Pad will not be a “perfect fit” for models that did not have the R3 or Super Cell pad as original factory equipment. These recoil pads are designed for the 12 gauge only. For 2004 or Newer.

When I installed the Supercell Recoil pad I was very disappointed with the fit and the inadequate means of attachment to the stock of my Remington 870. I wrote a stinging review. However, after shooting with the pad, I must say that the pad does the job very well. The 870 kicks like a mule and the pad really made a difference. If you can get past the less than perfect fit and if you add washers to increase the screw head size to get the pad to stay on the stock then the pad is well worth the money. IT REALLY DOES THE JOB.

I am very surprised that Remington would put their name on such an inferior product. It does not fit the wood stock of my 870. It is too narrow plus does not cover the end of the stock from top to bottom. The two screws that are provided with the recoil pad DO NOT keep the pad attached the stock. The pad will pull right off with minimal effort, well actually, it will not even stay in place. The screw heads pull right through the screw holes. This should not be called a SuperCell but it should be called an SuperAwfulCell Recoil Pad. I am very disappointed. WHAT AN INFERIOR PRODUCT. It should be taken off the market before anyone else wastes their money purchasing one of them.
