This scope mount allows rifle scopes, holographic sights & red dot sights to be mounted solidly over the rifle receiver. The mount is medium to high profile. The mount makes contact with the receiver at five points of contact for rock solid accuracy. The magazine stripper clip guide needs to be removed and replaced with a mount attachment for installation. The mount accepts Weaver type rings on the Picatinny rail. No permanent modification required. Constructed of black oxide high carbon steel. All hardware included.

Bought this mount about a mount ago. Went on relatively easily. Stripper clip guide was a pain to remove. I shot 250 rounds with this once I mounted it to my rifle. Took a bit of adjustment on my scope to get it sighted in. The reason for that was on closer inspection, the mount was crooked, which means the quality control of the mount isn't that good. The way to fix that is to shave a little bit of metal on the horizontal contact point on the bottom side of the mount that contacts the receiver to have it sit straight. The reason for the low score is because on the checking of the fit to make sure it's straight. The mounting screw stripped out too easily. I tried to make sure not to over tighten it, based on the reviews I read before about the screw stripping out. Thankfully it didn't strip the threads in the receiver. Now I'm going to invest my money on a actual A.R.M.S. #18 mount, rather than a copy. Or better yet a Sadlak mount. When you've got a $1500 to $2000 gun, you shouldn't cut corners and at least spend the extra money and get a good, quality mount.

This was a very good purchase. Over all the mount seems to be constructed of very sturdy steel, and is an exact copy of a ARMS 18 mount. My only issue was that the product shown on the website has a full rail all the way across like a new ARMS mount but the product deliverd to my house was like a old ARMS mount with the split rail. The little mix up did not bother me because so far this is the first mount that actualy fit my M1A properly. So other than the rong picture of the product on the website im very happy with the purchase and will continue to buy from CTD.
