The new MBUS (Magpul Back-Up Sight) GEN 2 is a low-cost, color injection molded, folding back-up sight.

The MBUS Front Sight is adjustable for elevation and fits all MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail equipped weapons, but is specifically tailored to the AR15/M16/M4 platform.

I'm using this on a 9mm carbine with 16.5 in of rail space on top. If I don't want the sights hanging over the end of the rail, it places the sight radius at 13.5 inches. In my opinion, this is too close together for a sight post that wide (standard width). I purchased "2-KNSSIGHTPAK" KNS Precision Front Sight Post pack and am using the smallest square dot post. I wasn't being careful enough when removing the sight and the spring shot out. I had to use the spring from a cigarette lighter to replace it. Pen springs were too wide. My fault, not this item's. Even though my sight posts were the same size, I had to screw mine down nearly all the way to get it on target. I like to "sunrise" my point of impact. This could be the platform I have it mounted on though. I've used an AR with them and I don't recall the front post being that way. The front sight also doesn't screw down as far as it does on a standard AR front sight. It does come with a free front sight tool. The product seems robust enough, even though I can tell it's prone to dings, dents, and scratches.

Good front sight. Went with this front sight because it was the lightest I could find. Gets the job done. Price is high, but with all the sights nowadays, this is common.

I installed these on my Bushmaster Carbon 15 as backup sights for my EoTech 512 sighting system. Even when you dis-engage these sights, i.e. (Down position) they hold there Zero pretty well once deployed (i.e. pop-up), as a backup. Not 100% perfect, but acceptable enough for defensive shooting scenarios < 25 yards.
