Designed and engineered for the SKS, the Pro-Mag magazine provides fast, reliable ammo delivery. Self-lubricating, polycarbonate follower with precision-wound, heat-treated, chrome silicon spring ensures reliable feeding you can count on for defensive maneuvers and tactical competitions. Removable base plate allows easy disassembly for cleaning. All ProMag Industries magazines are 100% warranted against manufacturer's defects.

4.0 Rating better than I thought - 12/28/2011
Reviewer: sks owner (boo-ya!)
I received my order today mags are of good quality look nicer than the picture. no problems to get mag to fit pops right in to a nice snug fit, not that much different from tapcos mags. I would recommend this product especially if you can't find any other mags.

5.0 Rating Exellent - 1/30/2012

There is a split between people who dislike the magazine or love it. I love it ProMag made a magazine in my book just as well designed as the Tapco 20. I used this magazine with no flaws, no jams. I'm going to buy more!

4.0 Rating ProMag vs. Tapco - 2/7/2012
Reviewer: theFACE
bought a tapco mag 2 weeks before i got the promag. the tapco didnt work from start. doesnt feed bullets at all. i dont see the point of buying something brand new then having to repair it to work right. i only got it bcause of all the good things i heard. i figured if the tapco doesn't work then i dont have much to lose buying a product with horrible reviews. got the mag, loaded it and it feeds the rifle. The only problem i have it that its a tight fit. havent shot it yet but compared to the tapco mag my experience is successful. Don't b scared to buy the promag. says 30 rounds but i got 37 in the mag.

4.0 Rating Excellent Mag - But - 2/25/2012
Reviewer: Old Salt
I ordered 4 of these for my 1951 Russian SKS. When I got them, I was very impressed. They are VERY well built. They are battle-hard. Breaking one would take some determined effort! I disassembled my SKS and removed the built-in magazine and inserted the ProMag. Rats! It wouldn't fit. I called CheaperThanDirt tech support and he warned me that my rifle is a collecter's piece and not to modify the rifle. He said the the magazines fit the cheaper rifles, but the Tula factory Russian rifles have some differences. Modify the $15 magazine at your own risk (huge risk? nahhhhh). Very nice guy; very knowledgeable. Don't remember his name. Steve, maybe. I put a magazine in the SKS and tried to bang it into place. I removed it and found that the extension piece sticking out the front had some knicks on it. Filed the interfering plastic back with an emery board (the good kind that has black sandpaper faces). Next I found that the top of the rails that run along the back of the mag were interfering with the guides in the gun. I filed the rails back and tapered them some. Next I found that the nub that sticks out the back of the mag and engages the magazine release was a little bit too long, so I filed off about an 1/8" of it. The magazine then clicked in place, but it was a very tight fit. I noticed rub marks on the magazine on both cheeks where the mag was a little too wide. I filed, fitted, filed, fitted, etc until the rub marks were minimal and mag insertion into the gun became acceptably easy. Once I had the first mag figured out (3 hrs), the additional 3 magazines were fitted in 15-20 minutes each. Now all 4 magazines snap in place with reasonable effort. They function flawlessly. Big smile. If you have a Tula Russian SKS, the effort is worthwhile. Keep and label the original magazine so that your heirs can get full value for the gun when you kick off. It's a sure bet that you will never part with this lead chucker!!!!

2.0 Rating Not to great - 9/15/2011
Reviewer: RyanAZ
Got my mag went to put it into my SKS an it dosent fit yet its for an SKS. Filed it ,got it to fit. When I load a round the slide catches on the lips of the mag. Really dont waste your money. I thought Pro Mag was good. I will be keeping the mag an filing it more an try it out in my gun to maybe break it in I hope.
