1.0 Rating Very disappointed in Pro Mag - 10/29/2013
Reviewer: Tom M
I`ve bought ProMag magazines on previous occasions, and have usually been satisfied, but these 10 round mags for the Ruger Mini 14 are really bad. First, the cartridges are nearly impossible to load into the magazine, especially the last 3 rounds. it`s a real wrestling match to slide the rounds in next to each other. Second the magazine is a poor fit in the rifle`s magazine well. it takes a lot of wiggling and jostling to seat the mag, and then it is difficult to remove it, it won`t eject smoothly and must be forcibly pulled out. Third, the rounds do not feed from the mag into the chamber at all. When the bolt handle is drawn back and released the round moves forward about a half inch and gets firmly stuck. the bolt must be forced forward manually to strip the round from the mag and into the chamber. It appears that the bullets fit too tightly in the mag and have too much contact friction to slide freely from the mag. It seems that the spring in the mag is way too firm and tight compared to the spring in the factory mag that came with the rifle. I`m trying a friend`s advice to leave the magazine loaded for a while to see if this tempers the spring somewhat. All in all, however, I am very disappointed. Should have "bit the Bullet" and forked over the heavy fee for factory mags.

1.0 Rating Very bad fit / feed - 1/31/2014

Tried out a couple of these pro mag magazines with my mini-14, and had waaaay too many jams to even take them seriously (the same ammo loads like butter through the gun with stock mags). What junk.
