If you have some patience, you can modify these to fit your Scar 17 S since the mags are hard to find. I only put 25 rounds in them and I wouldn't use them in a life or death situation, but they're a cheap thrill at the range if you're waiting for Scar mags to become available.

Got two mags and they worked well in my Century Arms FAL for a while, but after the 5th or so time to the range, the bottom of the mags started getting swollen around the bottom when fully loaded. Then the bottom blew out after a few rounds fired. One mag still worked fine. After another time at the range, the second mag started blowing out the bottom. Now I have to clamp both with a vice-grip on the bottom in order to fire them. Probably wouldn't buy again because of crappy quality of the base plate and how it's secured. Other than that, they fit well. DSA should send me some new ones.

Snapped right into my Century Arms! Loading the magazine, the first couple of rounds fight-back, but goes smoothly after that. Magazine took all 30 rounds and spit them out without a hiccup! Keep a few drops of light oil inside them. The "sticky stuff" on the outside of the mag when you get them is ALSO inside the mag: It is simply COSMOLINE grease! Used for any long-term storage of steel firearms and parts - it keeps the steel from rusting during storage. Hose it off and out with simple Automotive Brake Parts Cleaner, BEFORE loading any rounds into the magazine. Base plate is fine.

I agree with everything John said. I also have a RRA LAR-8. Fit well. They came caked in greasy stuff. Seem to be sturdy but the bottoms are like crimped over all 3 sides but 1 left open for some reason. If mag was loaded and dropped my guess is that would pop straight off and rounds fly everywhere. So I taped them with sturdy black no shine tape for safety and grip.

I agree with everything John said, I also have a RRA-LAR-8 .308 assault rifle. They fit well. Haven't shot with them yet- will do in 2 days. My problem is the bottoms of the mags where the plate that holds the spring it seems like it could slide off if dropped. Definitely not like the mags that came with my rifle where the edges are crimped over the sides for security. So I taped the bottoms with black tape. Looks don't bother me all about functionality. Recommend for bulk mags not top quality.
