I have large hands and the 1911 I have had smooth wood grips that were a bit slim for my taste. I bought this to try out. I love how my hand feels so natural on it and I have the feeling of utmost control. My wife has small hands, so she is not quite as excited about it, but even she admits it is better than the stock grips.

I have rather large hands and I like a real positive feel of control. I love it. My wife has smaller hands and has a bit of a hard time getting her hands on it well, but I love it. Easy to install and needs no special tools. I recommend letting it sit in the sun for 20 minutes first, so it's a little easier to get on.
