This Hornady stuff is much, much better than our issued duty ammo. It makes less residue and is more accurate at 20 yards. I reject the Speer Gold Dots (which are free) for this ammo. After 200 rounds, my Glock 21 is still going, without a single problem.

I got a box of these to replace the Hornady Critical Defense rounds I had been carrying for several months. I loaded the mags for my XD compact and chambered a round to test the feed. It fed OK, but I couldn't get the slide to retract. It scared me, because I had now had a hot gun, which I couldn't even disassemble to fix. Eventually I used my man hands and the round was ejected. I tried this with every round in the box with the same result. I then took it to the range and fired a full mag without incident. This makes me question the reliability of these rounds when carrying. The Critical Defense rounds functioned flawlessly. I may have to go back to those or Golden Sabers.
