1.0 Rating Not Accurate - 8/14/2012

I looked at the ballistics of the 325 grain .45-70 LEVERevolution rounds and was impressed by its flatter trajectory and higher velocity. So, I bought four boxes of ammo and took my Marlin out to the range. The first thing I noticed was that they shot 6 to 8 inches lower at 100 yds than 300 grain Remington rounds. I had assumed that at a higher velocity, they would shoot higher, but that wasn't what I observed. After raising the point of impact on my scope, I still chased the rounds all over the target. Often, on a three shot group, at 100 yds, there would be a 6" spread between two shots, and one would be clear off the target. Subsequently, I went back to 300 grain Remington rounds, re-sighted the rifle, and am back to 1" groups at 100 yds. For me, the LEVERevolution rounds did not measure up to their hype, and didn't even come close to the old school Remington rounds.
