Designed for suppressed weapons, Gemtech's .22 Long Rifle rounds are a great choice amongst subsonic rimfire ammo.

After years of recommending various brands and types of ammunition, we decided to do things right and create our own optimized round for suppressor useage. Putting together a heavier bullet, a cleaner powder, a premium lube on the lead round nose projectile gave us consistent velocities and harder hitting performance at subsonic, suppressor friendly speed. The 42 grain lead round nose bullet is heavier than traditionally available rounds, but isn't so heavy as to cause instability. While "harder hitting" and ."22lr" aren't usually associated together, steel silhouette shooters will appreciate the difference between a knockdown and a wobbling target that stays up! A designed velocity of 1020 feet per second ensures the heavier projectile remains subsonic speed in most all firearms without resorting to anemic velocities.

Muzzle velocity: 1080 fps

50 rounds per box. To buy a full case, order 100 boxes.

2.0 Rating Subsonic??? - 10/29/2012

I bought these to shoot out of my Walther P22 (pistol) and S&W 15-22 (rifle) with my Gemtech Alpine 22LR suppressor. I thought since the ammo was made by a suppressor manufacturer that it would indeed be subsonic and hence quite. Out of my pistol it was extremely quiet because the bullet was subsonic, however, it WAS NOT subsonic out of my rifle. Normally I shoot Remington Golden bulk ammo which gave me the exact same result at a bulk price... quiet out of my pistol but not my rifle. I also noticed that the rounds are under-powered, I'm assuming that is how they get them to be 'subsonic'. Therefore the guns both cycled a lot slower and recoil less. I didn't have any malfunctions with them but I definitely noticed a change in cycle speed and recoil. All in all I would not buy these again. They are pretty cheap so go ahead and buy one box to see if you get the same results as me. I'm going to move on to CCI to see if I can get something to go subsonic out of my rifle.
