Single point slings using HK Style snap hooks or mash hooks attached to shotguns such as Mossberg 590, have become very popular in both military and law enforcement special operations circles. Because of the lack of an alternative method, most shooters have just clipped their single point sling with a snap hook into a standard rectangular shaped sling swivel. Although this works, it is noisy and provides a loose and sloppy sling attachment.

GG&G has developed a great lightweight and rugged alternative to clipping into the standard sling swivel, the GG&G Mossberg 590/500 Ambidextrous Shotgun Single Point Sling Attachment for HK Style Snap Hooks. If you need an ambi sling attachment for your Mossberg 500/590, this is the one. Precision machined from rugged 7075 aircraft grade billet aluminum alloy and Type III hard anodized matte black per mil-spec, it has been designed for the rigors associated with professional use. All edges have been de-horned and softened for the shooters safety. The Single Point Sling Attachment can easily be installed by the operator. I've installed this product on both my Mossberg 500 and my wife's Mossberg 500 (12gauge and a 20 gauge). First the "challenges:, (1) the 20 gauge required me to find a bit longer grip-screw, as the supplied screw falls short of the added 1/4" or so of the thickness of the sling mount. No problem, a hardware employee helped me find the correct screw with a little more length. (2) Both shotguns now have a very small gap (1/4") between the rear of the trigger guard and pistol grip. This being applied to a shotgun, it is NOT noticeable during tactical shooting and training. It may be noticeable on something like a sniper rifle, where length of pull is custom, etc...not so for my application. Now for the "sweets": (1) My wife and I are left-handed and right-handed, and with an ambi single point sling, we can shoot each others' shotgun without a hiccup. (2) Using my shotgun, the sling point did not shafe, get shaved, scratch-to-silver, or fail me. Installation along with a trip to the hardware store for ONE screw is well worth it. I didn't deduct a "bullet" for that because the product description was accurate enough to let me know I may gamble using the same screw or not. Not GG&G's or CTD's fault on the screw length. All in all, I am very impressed with this piece of equipment.
