I bought this stock to upgrade an old 1974 Western Field 550 (a Mossberg 500 they made for Montgomery Wards). The included instructions are idiot proof. The stock was relatively easy to screw in, and snugged up nicely after applying some torque on the bolt, good and tight. It has an optional sling plate that works well between the stock and receiver. The included forearm is a nice addition, too. It slid on easily with the removal of the original castle nut and went back together perfectly. Although, beware that it is designed for the 7-5/8" slide tube and presumably wouldn't fit the 6-1/2" (duh).
