Just received my order and was excited to get my hands on this Blackhawk. Let's break it down: 1. My J-Frame does fit, if I shove it all the way in. There is a small lip that prevents the muzzle from going through evenly. Had to trim this off and then weapon fit just fine. 2. If ya buy this for a Concealable Holster, DON'T!!! If ya wearing suits all day, maybe it'll work. If ya just going to the range or hunting - IT'S GREAT! Since my 638 has a 2-1/2" barrel, it actually sticks out 1/2". If your jacket comes up far enough, the barrel will be exposed. So, it's a great holster. Blackhawk makes quality equipment and it's really tough. I used one for several years and never had a problem. The choice is yours, but Blackhawk is the way to go.
