I was skeptical about buying this for my Chiappa 1911-22, I shoot steel challenge and wanted a red dot sight but didn't want to shell out the cash for other expensive mounts. Saw this, got a CtD gift card and went for it. The fit is perfect and the red dot scope is a great fit. Hitting the range when time allows for the true test. Only minor complaint was the instructions said you had to remove 2 pins hammer/safety pin and one other but on my Chiappa 1911-22 I didn't have to, so I spent an hour putting it back together lol.

Fit my Kimber Custom TLE R2 perfectly with no mods. Have over 1000 rounds through the gun with this scope mount and a red dot, never once have I had a jam. Shells have always cleared the mount. Very easy to take off and on.

With a little effort, this will fit the Taurus PT1911. A Dremel or similar high-speed rotary tool will speed things along. Very simply, make a paper template, tape onto the mount, and grind away! I used a Sharpie to touch up the ground spots. Looks pretty good. It's not steel so I'm not concerned about it rusting. The mount still feels very solid, so I think I'll be okay. In Zack's defense, the mount DOES block the ejection port when the slide is forward, but does not impede ejection when the slide is back. I gave it only 4 stars for two reasons: a)gets in the way when I clear the occasional stovepipe, b)slightly more difficult to rack slide with heavy duty recoil spring because there isn't enough real estate in the back to grip onto. They're just personal preference. I'm still happy with the mount. I like it better than some of the alternatives, many of which are much more expensive.

I got one at a gun show. Installed it on a Colt 1911 70 series. Fit is perfect so I mounted a red-dot scope, it improved aim by allowing use of both eyes (no magnification), grouping size reduced 50%. Only problem - sometimes the ejected shell will wedge between the slide and the mount, about 50% of the time. Tried several ammo brands with same problem. Fun to have for target practice, I may modify it by filing the back to help shell ejection problems.
