| These are the ones you want, and they are worth paying for. Simply the best magazines for either of two superb CZ 9mm combat pistols -- the CZ 75 Compact (manual safety) or the CZ P-01 (decocker).
Many of the 14-round CZ Compact mags, including those sold by Mec-Gar (the OEM for CZ) under their own label, have a protruding metal butt plate. Thus they lack the slightly extended rubber baseplate / finger rest that is featured on these 14-rounders. This subtly and negatively affects the feel of the gun -- the metal baseplate's are not quite low enough to permit all three fingers to comfortably wrap around the butt. In contrast, these CZ 14-rounders with the rubber baseplate pad feel GREAT in the hand -- every bit as good as the wimpy 10-round mags that are still shipped with some CZ pistols. Plus these 14 rounders don't rattle when fully loaded, like the dumb CZ 10-round low-caps do!
I have three of these magazines so far and they are all 100% reliable and smooth functioning. My trusty P-01 now uses nothing else. Yes, they're pricey. I wish we could buy CZ Compact hi-cap mags in bulk for the same prices as Glock 19 mags, but until that day arrives these mags are well worth springing for. |
