1.0 Rating Don't waste your money - 4/11/2008

I had heard a few good things about this model and thought I would give it a try. After receiving it, I noticed right away that it didn't seem right- the follower was sitting about 1/2" lower than the lips. I tried to load a few rounds in to check operation. It failed to properly feed any rounds to the rifle and the last three rounds actually got stuck/wedged deep in the mag (CCI stingers- not cheap ammo).

1.0 Rating stinger ammo - 5/22/2008

i am also a 10/22 owner and if you would have read the owners manual when you bought your 10/22 you would know that it advises you not to shoot cci-stingers, same goes for the magazines.

1.0 Rating Terrible magazine - 5/30/2008
Reviewer: Tony V.
I read the manual cover to cover before I even bought my 22 Charger, then again as I unpacked and inspected the new pistol, and again just a few minutes ago. Guess mention of CCI Stingers. Not all 10/22's are the same and Ruger's warning of the Stingers (in the generic 10/22 and 10/17 manual) is clearly directed toward the target rifle models with the tighter tolerances. If you studied your 10/22 manual, you would know this. Yes, Ruger does advise against using any non-parent company parts or accessories (which I suppose would include magazines). So does just about every other major industrial manufacturer of any type on the planet. I guess that means I can mount a scope base but not the scope because Ruger doesn't make optics? Ruger does, however, sell on it's website several non-Sturm, Ruger & Co. aftermarket accessories, including sights, rings, stocks and slings. Maybe they just want you to buy that stuff but not install it? Funny thing is that it was a Ruger tech person who recommended the Butler Creek steel lips mags when I called them- which by the way, have performed flawlessly with several bricks of various .22LR ammo thru them (including the Stingers). Long story short, spend the extra $9 on the Butler Creek steel lips mags...and always read and properly understand your owner's manuals :)

5.0 Rating Not bad for me - 6/6/2008
Reviewer: Daniel Shea
I bought 2 of these from my local FFL dealer. I found jams quite often for the first 500 or so rounds of federal ammo. I went to "higher" quality ammo because I know this is highly debated. but the federals do not feed well. I switched to Remington Golds and it functions flawlessly. I can dump both mags in under 40 seconds without a hitch. I personally feel the magazine inconsistencies are just the weapons themselves. no two are exactly alike. Overall for me an ok mag. I just worry about the plastic lips.
