5.0 Rating Ruger Mark III - 7/25/2011
Reviewer: Paul Sibley
My 1st gun review. First I want to say I like this little pistol. My 1st gun purchase. I got it at a local dealer in Oct, 2009. Paid about $460.00 for the stainless. A great gun for new shooters, old,as I am and younger ones too. CTD sells for less than $328.00, for the blue/black. When you buy this gun run about 500 rds thru it before you disassemble. Reassembly can be a little tricky and frustrating. Be calm. If you experience problems check out the web-sites, Ruger Mk III reassembly. Afterward, even a guy that lives in a cave could do it. In 18 mths I have put about 5000 rds thru mine. I have had no trouble with the standard sites. Rear site is adjustable. Just for fun I put an Eotech HWS on mine. I know the HWS costs more than the gun. But no wives, kids or pets were neglected in the purchase. Gun comes with a Weaver rail. If you use it for anything use "BLUE" loc-tite sparingly. The rear screw hole has no bottom. Be sure to clean the threads. You shouldn't have any problem zeroing the site. I have used CCI Hollow and solid point, Federal solid nose. All work good. In this market CCI sells for about $11.00 a 100,Federal about $5.00 for a 100 at the "BOX" store. I have seen at our local outdoor range 4 stainless and 3 blue/black MKII and MKIII. Both are popular. In closing I'm glad I bought the MKIII. I have fun with it at an affordable price. Paul S. in Florida.
