I wanted my SKS to have a more modern look, and for that, this fit the bill. BUT BE WARNED: CTD shipped ONLY the stock; no other parts were included. Meaning, if you have the original wood stock, there is NOTHING in this kit to replace the wood hand guard at the top of the front end. Fortunately, I had already been using an aftermarket stock with plastic black handguard, and was able to use that with this stock. Comfort is OK, but it's difficult to find a proper-fitting recoil pad if you're shoulder firing. Also, I had to drill a hole in the forend for a swing-swivel stud so that I could mount a BiPod on it. All these little gripes add up, but overall I'm satisfied with the stock. It looks great and does so cheaply. Oh one other thing: be prepared to sand down a lot of edges from the molds. They are really rough on bare hands.
