|Great Sights but be Aware of the Installation
I have a 50.cal Bobcat made by CVA that I installed these sights on. The stock brass front sight was nearly impossible to see during sunny days so these fire sights are the way to go. The brighter the sun is the better you see with these sights! When I received the sights I thought the rear sights would be difficult to install but actually it was opposite. The old rear sight punched right out with a brass drift and the new sight was installed within 10 minutes. The front sight was another story. I am hoping that someone from Cheaper than Dirt will read this review as the front sights require fitting with a file and sandpaper. CTD's website needs to state hand fitting is required. Make sure you only use brass or wood when working with these aluminum sights as the metal is soft. This is stated on the manufacturers packaging and they even recommend gunsmith installation if you are not comfortable doing these type of hand fitting yourself. It would not have kept me from purchasing them but I just hate surprises. I would still highly recommend these sights. The rear sight is now adjustable for both elevation and windage. I was able to take a large doe on the second day of muzzle loading season and I know these sights made the difference!
