Crimson Trace to release new products at SHOT show - Green Lasers?
The annual NSSF SHOT show is just around the corner, and rumours are flying about Crimson Trace releasing a number of new products. In addition to the new models of grips for the new Ruger LCR (among others) there are whispers that Crimson trace may be entering the burgeoning "green laser" market.
New, powerful, green lasers have been on the market for years, but have long been bulkier than and demand more power than the older red lasers. Advances in battery and laser technology may now mean that Crimson Trace can fit these power packing illuminators into a handgun grip.
Increased power means that these lasers are very easy to see, even in bright daylight. At night, beams from green lasers can be visibly seen, unlike traditional red lasers which only leave a visible dot on the target. The difference in power is dramatic. It's just gossip for now, but I wouldn't be too surprised to see Crimson Trace going "green" for the 2010 SHOT show.
