Subject: Spent casing stuck in Chamber
Help... I have a S&W M&P Sporter AR15, almost new. I took it out to do some shooting with my sons and I had reloaded all my mags with Tulammo, because who wants to plink with the expensive stuff? The problem is this, After say 200 rounds or so with no problem, a spent casing remains in the chamber. I looked at the removal tool offered here at CTD, but in my case the rear of the casing is still attached. I feel like the heat of the caused the lacquer finish on the steel casing to act like a weld, I really am not sure, I just need to know how to remove it without causing damage... Thank you for your assistance.

This seems to be a problem with Tulammo. In everything I have seen or read you are right that the lacquer melts from the heat of shooting then cools down in the chamber. Find a previous entry on here from gundog94 I believe he is a gunsmith and send him a private message and he may be able to help.

Wolverine, if you haven't already done so, try tapping the stuck case out with a one piece cleaning rod. It won't hurt the gun even if you tap on the end of the rod with a plastic mallet. In most cases, this will free the stuck case.

Yes what gun dog said. I have had this same issue in my bushmaster that I warned about in another post. I had to take the upper off and knock it out with a cleaning rod. I had to use a good amount of force to get mine out. Stay away from coated casings.
