Love these blankets and want more. Heavy gauge wool and in great shape. Makes great wool batting for quilts.

I bought four of these great blankets, and wish I bought more. They are a great value! You will not find a warmer, heavier, or higher quality wool blanket at this price. A word about the mothball odor: as others have stated, the mothball odor is absolutely overwhelming. Do not bring the box into the house and open it. Open the box outdoors, and air the blanket out for several days. I hung mine outside for 7 days, and then took them to a laundromat to wash them. I washed them (gentle cycle, cold water) in a front loading machine with Woolite, and then hung them outside to air dry for another 3 days. The mothball smell is gone! I would strongly recommend that these blankets not be washed in a top loading washing machine, as the agitator may cause damage. I highly recommend these blankets!
5.0 Rating good blanket - 10/12/2010Italian Wool Blanket 64x80 Oversized Brand New5.0000

I have had this blanket for a year now, and I love it. Yeah, it's itchy, but it's wool. It is not as thick as I thought was going to be, but it's still a really good blanket. As for the smell, yeah, it stinks. I left it outside for about 2 weeks hanging over a table. It got rained on and then I put it in the washing machine at least twice. I guess you are not suppose to wash wool, dry clean only, or at least that is what I read. But I did not have any problems with it falling apart, so I guess it's washable.

I got two of these, they were a bit smelly but I just left them outside for 4 days, and they are fine now! Very warm and very tough blankets. I will buy more when they come in again!

100% Wool! These are a great value for the money. It is just a shame that the moth ball smell is so strong. I did as many people on this site, said to do with these blankets. Aired them for several days and washed them with fabric softener and air dried them for several more days. It seemed to help but the smell was still very strong. I actually had to air them for about three weeks in the garage till they got to an acceptable level to use on the children's bed. If it wasn't for the strong smell and the difficultly in ridding the smell, I would have given them five stars.
