I bought two sets. One set is absolutely brand new – mint condition! For $130! Second set barely used (ones?) I am very excited! Best investment I have made in camping gear! Love the Gore-Tex outer shell (bivy). Feels like it will last a lifetime! Thank you CTD! I wish I had that when I served in Siberia )))) ??? ??? ????! (Former Russian 1st Lt, 8 years of service)

Like some of the others, my "used" bag was anything but that. No holes or tears...it still had the original inspectors tags on it. I'm more than happy! Don't hesitate to buy!

I just received my "used" bag in the mail today. Opened it and could not believe the condition. It appears the bag has never been slept in. The condition is beyond expectations. Best money spent on camping equipment thus far. I am looking forward to staying dry and warm with this bag.

After reading other reviews I decided to buy the bag. When it arrived (Very quickly I might add) I inspected it and like everyone else, I was surprisingly impressed! It might as well have been the new bag. No holes, rips, tears or anything. Thanks CTD for yet another beautiful product.

I just got my bag in yesterday. It had a little storage smell to it but was in excellent condition. I put in the washing machine according to the directions and it came out fine. The bag to store it in also was in great condition, it looked brand new. Don't be hesitant to pick one of these up. Also if you have never used one of these before it's the best bag system out there.

I ordered this bag expecting to receive an obviously used piece of equipment. To my surprise it was like new. Just needed a run through the washing machine. Great value!!

After reading all the reviews, I ordered this bag, along with a number of other items. I figured, "How can I lose?" When I received and inspected the system however, I was disappointed to see that the inner, black bag had 3 tears in it. Knowing that surplus items are non-returnable, I decided to call Customer Service anyway. I will admit to having a bit of an attitude, which the rep gave right back to me (Good for her!). She did get permission for me to return it, which I did. The replacement item I received was in excellent shape. I will order again from this company over and over. I'm VERY happy!

I had one of these in the Marine Corps, and got one off of CTD for Christmas. Have used it a couple times in the mountains this winter, and have slept like a baby! A couple of my city-boy friends were ill-prepared to sleep in the cold, they needed this bag...

I don't know how this was rated as Grade III. Aside from a single faded label on the black bag this MSS is in like new condition. The only MX required was a wash. I'm very happy with bag and the price.

I purchased 6 sleeping bags for my family. Every sleeping bag is in excellent working order. I took note that one bag had had a couple of repairs made to the bivy cover. Those repairs were really good. All bags arrived in complete working order and are ready for our camping trips. Having used these bags in the military, I know how well they work. I couldn't have made a better purchase for the product/money.

As a survivalist I rely heavily on milsurp equipment. This ECWS bag is by far the best investment so far. CTD is my number one shop for pretty much any equipment I have or will ever purchase! Thanks CTD for great quality at great prices!

My bag came in great condition. The only flaw was a hole in the stuff sack about the size of a BB. There was some dust on the stuff sack but everything else was clean.

I just recieved the sleeping bag today. I was really nervous about its "level 3" condition but I have given it a thorough inspection and I am very pleased with my purchase.I have yet to take it on a camping trip but I am looking forward to it.

I just got this bag on Thursday for a trip this weekend. We where leaving on Friday, so I didn't have much time to, I guess, get to know my new bag. I was able to spend two nights in it, both nights going below zero by a goodly amount. I was sweating both nights and all I wore was a base layer of under armor. I was out like a log and I never sleep!! I used to use a 40 bag with a blanket or two inside to line it, but this is all I need. Even the green patrol bag with the bivvy cover would be excellent for summer and I only had one pin hole in my bivvy cover. One of the best things I'll ever buy in my life, and I know it saved my bacon on this trip, though once I was out of the bag I got frost bite on my feet because my boots froze solid haha!

I recently received one of these bags and it was in basically brand new condition. I decided to put it to the test and spent a night in it where the temperature was -5 Fahrenheit with moderate wind and occasional gusts. It performed well and I stayed warm. Light clothing should be used when in this bag.

I love this set up!!!! Just make sure you WEAR THE LEAST AMOUNT OF CLOTHING POSSIBLE!!! They are made to use your radiating body heat, so wearing your pants and jacket and boots will make you FREEZE in cold weather. A t-shirt, underwear and dry socks are the most you need to wear inside this sleeping system. Used it the entire time I was in the Marine Corps. LOVE IT!!!!

I tend to be a bit of a pessimist and a skeptic. It it’s too good to be true, it usually is. You get what you pay for, etc. . So when I ordered this bag I was expecting all sorts of defects and wear and tear. I was extremely surprised, and much to my wife’s dismay because she’s had to listen to me prattle on about my new bag. I used these bags in the service and their quality and durability are top notch. The “used” bag I got was in great condition and I could ask for a better deal. BRAVO ZULU !

Had this system when I was in the military. Stayed warm and dry in the Colorado Rockies year round through thunder storms, snow, ice storms, everything. Worked just as well in the Alps, and desert environment. Best thing sense sliced bread.

Good buy - watch for tears

Bought this at $119 (a tremendous value), and have been very happy with it thus far. The bivy did have a few (2) minute tears in the bottom and one on the top that were easily patched with a multi-use patch kit purchased at Bass Pro for $4. I have yet to test it in a heavy down pour, but intend to use it in concert with a tarp anyway so don't foresee any rain issues. I have slept in it on dry nights in sub-freezing temps with moderate wind, and slept very comfortably. Note, you will need to purchase a sleeping pad that will roll up in the sack (unless you're just one of those masochists). Compared to the price of buying comparable gear individually, you can not lose with this deal. Cheers.

Very happy with this bag and the cost! Bivy looks almost brand new. The inner green bag, and black bag look used but in great condition. No problems at all. CTD is offering the best price anywhere on an excellent sleeping bag. If I had unlimited funds I would get another just to store.

All sleeping bags and bivy came in excellent used condition. No tears, no holes and all the zippers and button snaps work flawlessly with no wear or tear. Like previous review, compression sack isn't the greatest, but that's a cheap replacement item, or it's very easy to sew a few extra shrink straps on it...Great deal considering it's at least double the cost to purchase new, if you can find it new.

I go to a military College and have used this sleep system on a couple ftx;s and I love it. it is extremely warm, and the bivy keeps you dry in anything short of an absolute downpour. The only problem that I could possible see with this bag is that the compression sack could be improved upon. I just feel the bag could get a bit smaller. Other than that the system is top notch. I would recommend it to anyone.

This is the absolute best peice of gear you can get for $119! Keeps you dry, warm, and comfortable. If used with an iso-mat, you will sleep through anything short of a fire-fight. If you buy nothing else, get this.

If you are searching for a well made bag this is it. This bag replaced all my other bags. The full sleep system is amazingly warm. The gore-tex bivy is definently worth it. Similar name brand bivys are at least $200.00 just for the bivy. The bivy can also be used with your other bags. Each bag snaps inside the other, along the zipper on both sides, so you don't get twisted around inside. The bivy shell is 100% waterproof I tested it myself and all of the seams are taped and sealed. The sleeping bags can also be used independently if needed, and compress down into a small bag. The entire system can be compressed down to 1 cubic foot! This is truly an awesome, quality made, and tough product. Would recommend to anyone.

I used this bag many years when i was on active duty. It works great, but you must remember to sleep with as little clothing as possible. Put your clothes the bottom or use as a pillow. If you don't do this you will freeze. It uses radiating body heat to keep you warm.

I have been using the same bag since it was issued to me in 2001 (its Oct 2008). This bag has yet to fail me. Perhaps there is a warmer or a lighter bag out there, but it has worked well from summer through winter in Iraq to the high mountains of california as well as all seasons here in Texas.

I've used this bag for 18 month straight. I didn't like it at first because you still felt cold when you were sleeping, but if you use it with a thin layer of clothes and dry socks it will keep you warm no matter what the weather is like.

this set is pretty good, but its definitely not the warmest stuff ever. even while using the whole system in korea i still couldn't sleep because i felt like i was freezing. the best part of this system is the camo outer gor-tex "bivy bag" that thing is money and will keep you dry in the rain for sure.
