Well, the size is nice for concealment. I carry mine in my pocket when walking the dog around the park. Yep, a longer model might be better in a real fight, but concealment is always a tradeoff. My complaint is that the middle section fails to deploy consistently. Sometimes it holds open and sometimes it doesn't. I've tried all sorts of modifications, from filing it rough to deforming it with a sledge hammer. I suspect if I really needed it the adreneline would make me flick it open harder than I do in my living room, but I'd be more comfortable with a product that works every time in training. Plus, the retaining clip doesn't hold closed positively, making it rattle while I walk. All in all, I'm keeping mine, with the understanding that I probably won't ever need it. For civilian (concealment) applications, it's more important that it remain hidden than that it deploy positively every time. Made in China.

First of all the baton is a little shorter than I expected. I really don’t think in a combat situation were you actually needed to use it, it would be of great service to you. In addition it is hard to get the baton out of the sheath in a quick manner. It is hard to open quickly and harder to close. The retaining ring came of the top of the baton almost immediately also the sheath after a short period of time tore. I would not recommend this baton. I would prefer a longer one with the ability to put the baton in quick use.

Compact and easy to carry, slides out with a good flick. Getting it closed can be a challange. I'll have to buy another I already lost it.
