This is a cool holster. It was a pain in the butt adjusting it to my body, but worth the time. Thank you, CTD!

Bought this, plus a vest for my 229. Great fit and adjustable all around. Leg straps have rubber grip lines to prevent slipping after proper adjustment. Quality quick release clips and strong Velcro belt attachment fits my vest belt perfectly.

4.0 Rating great all around holster - 12/25/2011Tornado Tactical Leg Holster Black Condor Outdoor Adjustable for Every Weapon4.0000

I have two of these holsters. One I use for my 1911 and Springfield XD Tactical when hunting and the other I am currently using for my issued M9 in Afghanistan. It works great except the M9 tends to drop out the bottom of the holster causing the front sight to catch when drawing and the belt loop is starting to wear through due to constant use for the last six monthes. All said I would gladly but another one.

I will start out by giving some background about my weapon and I. I am 6’ 2” 180 lbs and carry an HK .45 USP full-size with Tru Dot sights. PRO’s- All of the material is durable (holster, thigh straps and even the Velcro). The thigh straps have ample room for sizing to most thighs (unless you have thunder thighs). The thigh straps have, running in 2 parallel rows their entire length on the inside, a rubberized material that grips the material of your pants very well to keep the holster from shifting around. The thigh strap buckles are very durable and lock securely. The straps are 4.5” apart on center. The spare magazine pouch accepts my 10 round magazine fine (mag is 1.5” x 1”). The belt loop strap/velcro is 2” wide (very nice). There is a lot of velcro and it really grabs tight. There is a little bit of room to adjust belt loop strap but most will come from the adjustment portion on the holster. The holster adjusted to my pistol easily and quickly. When the pistol bottom out against the front of the grip, the muzzle was recessed inside the holster 1/8”-1/4”. (On my pistol that length is about 5”). CON’s- The thumb break strap, in my opinion, could be designed a little better. When I received rig, the strap was adjusted way out there. Since the velcro is really strong, I used a dull butter knife on top of and underneath to break the velcro and to prevent it from re-engaging, then slid the excess thumb break strap down until it snugged up to my pistols hammer more. It is a great design up to that point. (Note: on the very end of the thumb break strap is a square of velcro 1”x1”. Next to that (closer to the pistol) is the snap. Where I think the thumb break strap could be improved would be to move the snap to the very end of the strap because when you push on the strap to separate the snap, the strap material flexes so far that it stops against your leg sometimes before separating. If the snap was at the very end, it would separate first. They could still put the velcro at the end; just sew it over the snap. The only other issue, and this to me is huge, is the back of my rear sights are flat (perpendicular to the top of the slide). The design of the holster stitching is that when they sewed the edge of the holster, there is a little lip inside the holster that the sights catch just about everytime I go to draw the gun. I am not about to file the sights down and the holster will not adjust to keep the pistol from dropping down in so far (and thus keeping the sights out of the holster.) They could sew some material inside the lip that would allow the sights to slide right past. I can overcome this by tilting my pistol back slightly as I draw it but would rather not have to consciously think about that if I were in a life-or-death situation. All in all, I am very satisfied with this. The issues I noted I feel I can overcome with training, small modifications etc.
