Very handy stock. Fires great from hip and is excellent for home defense or close quarter engagements. Installs in minutes using "Gunstocks for Dummies". I have about five different stocks for my 870 from knoxx tactical to boyds thumbhole. I'm very happy to add this one to my collection.

Great Grip

The pistol grip is great and gives my gun a real sinister look. The forend is the exact same as the stock forend on a Remington 870 express. The forend will hit my 6 shot side saddle but i just took it to a gunsmith to file it down and install it. Save your self the hassle and take it to a professional.

Excellent item! Easy to to install and easy to read instructions. A bit more difficult to use than a traditional pistol grip but looks awesome.

It serves its purpose; I love the look of a birds head pistol grip on my AOW 870 with 11 3/4'' bbl. But the sporting forend makes my short gun look goofy. I don’t know why speed feed doesn’t sell the LE forend with the birds head instead of the sporter. That’s the only down side, It feels great in my hands and is fun to shoot, also looks good to someone not as picky as me lol. Really a nice product for the money.

tricky, but worked

INSTALLATION: Came in a plastic bag. Simple (vague) instructions did not include illustrations; recommend semi-professional gunsmith installation. Did not come with rear swivel stud. Requires "Spanner Wrench" to install (to remove old foregrip and tighten new foregrip), used a 1 1/4" paint scraper instead. Also requires a long, sturdy flathead screwdriver (to remove old buttstock and tighten new reargrip); a phillips head screwdriver (to remove recoil pad on old buttstock); and metal clotheshanger (or similar stiff, thin object that one could bend a hook onto the end of, to remove plug in back of rear grip for tightening). Fits flush. Installation caused much frustration to novice. PERFORMANCE: Easy to hold. Do not raise to eye level as kick will not be transfered to shoulder, but to hand-face. At waist height recoil controlable, but at a steep cost of strong force directed to the cartilage of the hand in between index finger and thumb. It hurt after about 20 rounds. Not recommended for continous shooting without gloves. Purchased & installed 3/07
