nice kit

Very good kit. It was extremely fun to put together. This was my first major conversion of a weapon, and it happened to be the ruger 10/22 I have had since I was 14. I do have some small gripes with this kit. During assembly, it scraped the black finish off the bolt assembly. Also, what used to be a 1 minute field strip barehanded has become a tedious chore that requires the use of a few different types of hexigonal wrenches, fortunately included in the kit. Also, the first time I took it to the range, I lost one of the tiny bolts that hold the back takedown pin for the trigger in place. It was a major annoyance, and it couldnt be found because the tiny thing is the same size as a primer cap from a bullet and the range was littered with them. This last gripe is not really a gripe as much as a notice to anyone purchasing this kit. Make sure you tighten the screws as much as you can without getting them completely stuck there. All things consitered, though, I am happy with my little ruger's facelift.

Unmatched 'cool' factor. Very well made, super accurate. The oem mags are a tight fit, but your not going to use a ten round mag with this rifle. I have two of the aluminum TS mags and works perfect. May need to try a promag drum next. I added a holo sight on a tall rail, and can still use the open sights. I also added a rail to the forgrip and installed a gps grip pod, laser and tac light. I have about $750 total in this thing with ALL the bells and whistles. At 5 cents a round you can shoot all day. Currently my favorite toy!

I recently just purchased the KrinkerPlinker + the ProMag .22 50 round drum mag. I purchased a Ruger 10/22 from a local Pawn Shop for about $200 and used it for my conversion. It took me about an hour to put the weapon together using my old 10/22. I went out to my cousin's ranch and started putting rounds down range. The Krinker fired flawlessly. The whole kit was a wonder. I loved it. My girlfriend who doesn't even like looking @ guns much less shooting them had a great time with it. After she shot a couple of rounds, she unloaded the rest of the 25 round clip I had attached to the gun. I did have a little trouble with jamming on part of the drum mag being new, but other that that I really enjoyed my new Krinker... the price is right for this kit and I just love my new toy. Cpl Nugent... USMC.

I received my Klinker Kit today and was amazed at the Quality of the kit, mostly metal and little plastic. I had the opportunity to fire and evaluate a real AK - 74 in the early 1980's and the quality of it was like the AK - 47 (also shot this). These weapons are Mass Produced by several country's and is not to USA standards. However this kit combines the BEST of 2 outstanding US company's; Ruger and C&S Metall Werks <--(correct spelling) Manufacture of the Kit. The quality of the material, design and assemby instructions are without equal. I put mine together and went to the range and did some test firing. I used a 50 round ProMag Drum Magazine and was impressed with the performance. The sights are more than effective. I plan on expanding the package by installing a Red Dot Scope on the Picatinny Rail (which is included). The people at the range were all wanting to fire it. As to the problems that the previous Reviewer "Belly Flop Of A Kit" has with his setup, I think he'll find that it has Nothing to do with the Kit. It sounds to me as if his problems is 1 of 3 things; Receiver, Bolt (extraction pin), or the Magazine is New and has not been broken in yet. If he wants to get rid of the Kit I'll be MORE than happy to take it off his hands. Anyway from this 64 year old former USMC Gunnery Sgt. 20 thumbs up. Keep up the good work and Semper Fi.

well, i broke down and bought this for my ruger and was very exited when it arrived. it assembeled great and looks reak cool too. here is the downfalls... the stock ruger ten round mag works great in it untill you have to remove it. you have to literally pry it a little to get it out so i puchased 30 round hot lips mags, every other round jams in the reciever; the folding stock sticks when going from open to closed, but other than that it spices up the gun safe! i am dissapointed.

This is pure fun! I am sure though that soon some liberal will be "super scared" by it's appearance and push to have it controlled or banned, even though it is the EXACT same gun functionally/power/rate of fire, etc., as they always do, since they get their information from movies and their media. Definitely fun to build and diversify the gun safe! You can do all the aimed plinking and Rambo moves all in one and for cheap! The best thing I noticed about this kit though is the receiver housing fits VERY snuggly against the magazines and holds them secure so they do not move around and cause jams. This is especially valuable on the longer magazines (especially full of ammo) since their long lever-arm weight can tilt them if they are not held in tightly, a problem common with the wooden stocks. This is becuase it's a flip of the coin if you get a wooden factory stock that fits good and a millimeter can make all the difference. This would REALLY be fun if you had a full-auto, but unfortunately we've had our 2nd amendment rights defined by the ignorant. This proud Texan recommends it!

More fun than a barrel of monkeys

This past Christmas my family chipped in and bought me a new Ruger 10/22 carbine. Anticipating this, I purchased the Krinker Plinker kit in advance. ( from CTD, of course.) Within 1 hour, I had the Ruger apart and installed the Krinker Plinker kit. It took 1 hour because I dry fit the parts, before tightening everything down, making sure not to mar or scratch anything. What I ended up with is the coolest looking .22 on the planet. With 2 Pro-Mag 50 rd. drum mags, and 5 Eagle 30 rd. mags, we went out plinking. This damn thing is more fun than a barrel of monkeys, and gets more attention than anything I have brought to the range. I let everybody shoot it, and they all like it. I might have to build a second one so I can get to shoot it. I need more mags because I have a tendency to shoot a lot of ammo out of this and do not like to reload at the range and 250 rds. just isn't enough. I added a Leapers 3x9x40 scope. Now it is as deadly as it is cool. With the stock folded you can fire from the hip all day and at 8 bucks a box of 550 rds. you can afford to shoot this all day. I agree with the 3 negatives of the review of 1.16.07, but the amount of fun to be had far exceeds these negative points. Build one for yourself and see. STAY SAFE AND HAPPY SHOOTING.

This Krinker Plinker For Ruger 10/22 Rifle kit is good. Easy to read and understand the instructions. However, my 3 negative points are the 1) the lower Hand-guard is not tight and solid, it wiggles from side to side ever so slightly. (but enough so that you notice it). 2) I don’t like using the forearm retaining clip, removing this clip rubs the faceplate (causing marks no matter how gentle you are) that caps the upper and lower hand-guards together. And 3) if you need to dissemble the bolt, you have to take the entire assembly apart. But it does look good and functions well.

This stock looks just like an AK-74 SU but with a longer barrel. Super accurate barrel and great iron sights that surprisingly work! I thought it was going to be hard to assemble but it was so easy. It looks really awesome with the Pro Mag 10/22 Drum magazine installed on it.
