Good Rail system, 06/17/2008 |

| This rail didn't look very good coming out of the box and reading the reviews on leapers rails i decided to dry fit the rail then use locktite before going to the range. The rail took a little bit of work to get spread over the front sight on my 2006 ruger mini 14 ranch rifle but once on it seems like a solid rail. The rail lets you use your iron sights (sort of) which was good for zeroing my new Eotech 512 i got for it. I emailed Leapers to figure out what kind of system it is and it's Picatinny. Now the only con i have with this rail is with a scope or sight on it, the front end is VERY HEAVY! I would almost suggest you get a rail that mount to the side plate or on the scope mounts because it makes the gun much harder to shoot freehand. If you plan on using a bipod this won't be a problem. Also sits fairly high so keep that in mind( almost an inch between the handguard and top of rail). Took less than a half hour to get assembled and seems to work as a good rail. Don't forget the Locktite!! |
