Monopod is tops!!, 11/03/2006 |

| I recently purchased one of these monopods. First off, let me say-the shipping was very fast to me-so thanks for that.
Here is my take on the pod. There are some very good features and some pretty good features.
Here is the pretty good features: compass-liquid filled and kind of too small to read very well. Not very precise, but from a survivalist standpoint-better than nothing and not in the way.
V-Rifle/Camera rest-very, very handy and easy to thread on-but I wish there was a place on the staff itself to hold it while not in use. It is sort of big for my shorts and shirt pockets and so I wish there was a place to thread it on somewhere else or stow in on the pod when not in use for quick access.
Ok, now for the very good features:
#1 Feature for me-you can thread a camera right onto the stick. The 1/4" threads are exposed so when you take the attachment off-the threads fit most standard camera receptacles. Way Cool!
The metal staff portion of the walking stick is actually very heavy duty and is very rigid. I have several shooting sticks and some of them are so lightweight, that they have a tendency to bow or bend when walking with them. This stick is perfect for both hiking AND shooting-sort of a hard to find quality.
Easy to adjust. Unlike some other more expensive sticks I own-this one loosens and retightens with about 3/4 of a turn. Some sticks take two or three turns to fully tighten and this makes a quick height adjustment-no so quick.
Overall-great stick for the money! Way to go CTD! |
