This is the standard GI can opener. It is new and issued to all troops to open cans. These are made of steel and can be used more than one time. Military 4848

| I keep one or two at work, for various lunch preps (tuna is a big one).
I keep one in each car, one in the canoe, three with the camping equipment, two with the hunting gear, two with the fishing gear and one in my toolbox. You never know when you are going to need a reliable can opener. They make good little Christmas stocking stuffers too. |

| I always keep a week+ worth of canned food in the back of my Cherokee, and its a darned good thing too, and kinda needed up here in the wilds of Alaska. I keep one on my keychain, as well as taped to the bottom of some of the cans. |

| This is a great product. I bought a 5 pack from CTD several years ago and so far I have only used one of them. Buy a pack and keep one in the kitchen, one in the camping gear, and one in the survival pack. Give the other two to some college kids. It's a terrible thing having a late-night craving for chili dogs and not being able to find anyone in the dorm who has a can opener! |

| I have one that has been on every key ring I've owned since Viet Nam, 40 years ago. I has opened a mountain of can's over the years. Opened a can of salmon with it yesterday. HMckinley M/Sgt Retired U.S.M.C. Semper Fi!!! |

| I used my right hand and it bent on the first can which was a normal size of black olives which took forever for me to finally get it open. Cheap and small will sucker you in but don't waste your time. Our troops use these? |

| I have had one of these on my key ring since the early 80's. It's still great, I use it almost every day. Excellant as a screw driver also. Uncle Sam picked a winner! You should too |

| Yeah Tang, that's the problem we Lefties (NOT liberals) have always had...most everything is designed for RIGHT handers. |

| The picture gives the impression that it is a left handed opener, however it is right handed.
I keep one of these dangling off my keyring, and it works perfectly fine. You can open a can in less than a minute with it, and it's tiny! The picture on the website is pretty near actual size.
The blade opens to a 90 degree angle to the body of the opener, and folds in on itself when you don't need it. My father has a Chinese version that looks similar, but has a bottle opener on the side of it too. Despite not having a bottle opener, they make great stocking stuffers/gift for a backpacker, or a scout.
Plus, it's cheap. Might I even say, cheaper than dirt? |

| well i know why they were issued to our troops... they are amazing. They work great for opening cans and as a screwdriver. I keep one in my wallet because you never know when yo might need it. You can't beat the price for 5 of them. |
GREAT CAN OPENER, 07/08/2007 |

| This thing is a work of wonder. Not only is it a great can opener, it is also a great screwdriver. I am a Vietnam War reenacter and soldiers back then carried these around. Its great, when its eating time at a reenactment, it hard to open a C ration with a K-BAR and not mess up, so i just us this P-39 it it works great. Its great for reenacters, hikers, campers, even at home use, ect. |
Great! Don't put it on your keychain..., 12/01/2006 |

| Hey, I love these things. The P-38 is a great can opener, and I have more than one of them around. Unfortunately, I also have more than one hole in my jeans pockets from having the P-38 on my keychain. It doesn't stay folded up when jangling around with my keys. So I've taken to keeping one in my wallet in a slot the wallet has for a house key, and no more problems. |

| Great little can opener for anyone who likes to camp. You never know when you might need one. It beats trying to open a can with a hammer and screwdriver. |
