| I got this mask in this morning, and it was nice that it finally came in. Opened it up, it looked really nice, came with the filters and all, and even a replacement lens. Now here are the encountered problems, the filters are a pain to get in, tried for about 20 mins and then gave up on them. I tried the mask on, decent fit, but then sometime later, the mouth and nose area kinda fell apart. I only wish that this came with some instructions. |

| I have done painting, I have run wiring in old buildings, and pulled a plethora of other dirty jobs, and occasionally i have to work in old crawl spaces and basements with the dusty remains of asbestos and rat poison, so i bought the M10M gas mask a few months ago with the intention of using it as a high quality industrial respirator, i only expected it to be a bit better than the paint masks and respirators found in Home Depot and Lowe's, but before i even tried it out at a job site i was greatly surprised by this thing's performance.
Note: I couldn't stand the new rubber smell the mask still had when i first got it so i washed it out thoroughly a few days, so the filters really were capable of filtering out scents very well. Since then I've used my M10M on a few work sites, and seemed to work well... However if an NBC threat presents itself i can only hope this thing work's as well as it apparently seems to |

| This is a Czech copy of the US M17 gas mask design. Originally, it was designed based on the internalized filter set that the M17 featured, making it easier to sight-in a rifle or to wear in enclosed areas. However, neither the filters, the facepiece material, nor the valves themselves are up to par with the $60 M17 mask.
This piece would be ideal for wearing while painting, cleaning, in a dusty grain silo, as the particle size of the offensive agents in the afforementioned environments would be large enough that the OM10 could, to some degree of consistency, protect the wearer. This mask is pretty much worthless against any atomized agent smaller than Chlorobenzene Malonitrile gas.
CTD used to sell the much higher-quality M17A1 mask, one which, properly employed, is tenfold more effective in preventing the inhalation of dangerous materials by an individual in a hazardous environment. Enough being said, any mask is only as good as the operator's ability to properly use it.
If you buy any mask, make sure you know how to don and clear it, then fit-check it, to ensure a comfortable and effective seal.
HEPA/AC filters will NOT protect against airborne virus particles.
This mask, however, IS inexpensive, and is definitely far better than nothing in an emergency situation.
If total protection is what you're looking for, this mask is not the way to go. |
expiration date on the filters, 04/10/2008 |

| When all is said and done, this mask like all the others is only as good as the quality of the filters and the fit. I'm a HazWoper supervisor and I know that the filters in my mask are only good for about one year. That is if I don't open the sealed package they come in. If I'm in a high level of contamination they may wear out in just a few hours. My suggestion is if you buy any mask find out if replacement filters are available locally or hang it on the wall for a curiousity item. Sorry if this bursts a few bubbles but it would be criminal to not say anything. |

| I got several high-quality items from CTD for the first time, but this is the only product I was dissappointed with. The mask did no include the gray covering for the voice module nor a drinking tube (i know, no choice). The overall quality of the old rubber was OK, but the lack of accessories and maybe the very important gray covering made me wary of this buy. Other items were great. |
Bummed, 03/09/2008 |

| I have been a long time customer of CTD and have always been very satisfied with all my purchases. Except this one. The mask looks to be in great conditon (as new) but is lacking the very important outer seal that holds the filter in place in the cheak. The m-17 uses a snap on outer screen and these apear to need a screw in piece, all I know is this mask is worthless to me and I even ordered two sets of spare filters. bummer. The picture shows these pieces, they are the black dots you see on the cheaks of the mask. both sides are missing these. I have to say that I don't blame CTD as they can not be expected to inspect every piece of surplus they get. I will continue to get stuff from CTD as most things I have gotten have exceeded my expectation. Jon C |

Can't go wrong for $10, 03/05/2008 |
| Reviewer: Jason |
| How can you go wrong for ten bucks. The masks I recieved were new/unused. They seal perfectly. You can't blow out the mask like you can with an m17 though b/c of the exhale valve. The filters had a 1990 production stamp on them. They also came with lens sets to be used with a chemical hood & a canteen adapter. The m10m is the only gas mask other than the m17 to have a drinking tube. Although if I'm using it as a civilian I'll probably want whiskey in a flask. I don't think they make an adapter for that! |

| How can you go wrong for this cheap. Filters are a bit tough to install but makes for a more compact system. They are activated charcoal filter, so if you really want this as a SHTF mask, don't open the filters until you need them. It's a little darker gray then pictured. |

| I would like to say I am the Tom who wrote the last review. I got a call from Cheaper Than Dirt to ask me if there was anything they could do for me after posting the review. (Yes they called without me ever asking for anything!) They fixed the problem and shipped out another mask, I just opened the box and wow! Great condition(looks brand new) and new filters! There customer service is great, thanks Cheaper Than Dirt! 5 Bullets! |
Not what was pictured., 02/21/2008 |
| Reviewer: Tom |
| Well, really excited as all the reviews were so great. I really just want some protection from light chemicals. When i got the mask it was dirty scratched and discolored. The filters that came with it are not what was pictured at all. They are a different design and look very old with the right cheek filter being discolored and soft. If i get the filters from this site that are to fit this mask I fear it wont fit as they are very very different. The outer rings on the cheeks are different. Did I get a really old one or something? And to top it off no drinking straw, but i know its a gamble. I hope this was a fluke but very disappointed, I am afraid to use it with the messed up cheek filter. Also the eye pieces that came with it (extras) are not the same as what is on it. The ones on it have stamped metal on it and the new ones are a gasket type. Come to think of it the front is different and i can not find one picture of an OM-10 online that looks like the one I got. What is this? |

| Just received this mask a few days ago. Came new in sealed plastic, plus drink tube, outserts and a canteen adapter. Had to air it out because it stinks so bad. I use masks to protect myself when I sand and strip lead paint on my house. Very happy with this mask. Thanks CTD!! |

| I ordered this mask several months ago and since then I have gotten the Israeli M-15 and a South Korean K-1 from another site. This mask is much more comfortable than than the others and the fit is more air tight! I have a problem with the M-15 getting a seal,it leaks right above the right temple. For the price this mask is superior! |
those damn filters, 01/17/2008 |

| Today my mask arrived.(VERY EXCITED) Until trying to istall the filters. It took me about 15 minutes just to get them in and I still can't get my drink tube back into possition. Oh well, unless Clinton gets into the White House, I probably won't need it. LOL. Great buy for the money though! I also received extra lenses and an adapter for a canteen. thanks CTD!! |

| This gasmask is absolutly amazing. The only possible disadvantege I can see is that the filters are on the inside but if you are in a toxic enviroment for 12 hours I'd say your screwed anyway. |

| great mask very rugged but only comes with one set of filter so you have to open them to figger them out the mask fogs up with out filters in it, the drink tube is useless unless you have a compatible canteen but overall is a great last resort |

| These OM10 masks are pretty nice...Mine was new in plastic and came with all the extras including extra lenses, canteen plug for the drink tube, and the drink tube on the mask, of course new sealed filters too...
No problems with this item...
Of course it smells a little 'rubbery', thats what it's made out of, what's it supposed to smell like...?...Not even an issue worth mentioning...
There is no 'learning curve' or 'hard time' inserting the filters, a child could handle it as did my 10 year old daughter...
I'll be getting a few more of these masks from CTD... |
Excellent Value for the Money, 10/28/2007 |
| Reviewer: engineerguy |
| This gas mask is a great buy. While it doesn't fit my head while wearing glasses, it is still quite comfortable. There is a little bit of a learning curve when inserting the filter cartridges, but once they are inserted it has a good fit and doesn't smell as rubbery as I thought it would. There was no drink tube, but for $10 you really can't beat it. |

| Super fast delivery. The mask came with drink tube, and spare set of lenses. Very pleased with it, the only problem is that it won't fit me over eyeglasses. Mine was new, still sealed. Smelled a little rubbery, but no big deal. |

| I ordered two OM10s for my friends at work and they worked out nicely. Out of the package, they require some clean-up to get all the powder off and it takes a bit of a shove to get the filters in but, for the price, it was certainly worth it. I intend to buy a couple more soon, should the low price and stock hold out. Thanks! |
Maybe not the best..., 09/26/2007 |
| Reviewer: Phelan S. Restin |
| THis is a Czech-made OM10 gas mask.
It's tough, yes, but not really as much as many would construe it.
In the simplest terms, this mask is a low-cost replica of the American-made M17 CBRN protection system. I won't say that it's a piece of junk, but it really, really won't hold up to combat conditions, or any sort of protection other than chrolobenzene gas or maybe another large particle. Smoke and dust, yes. If this is all you have, use it. However, it is not something to trust your life to unless you have no other options.
THe rubber facepiece is made out of a durable, yet substantially stiffer rubber compound that does not seal as well as the black butyl of an M17. FIlters for this mask were produced in eastern Europe, and as you probably would have guessed, are extremely difficult to get hold of.
Otherwise, it's probably a better idea to go with a real M17-series mask, such as an unissued A2, or an israeli-made M15, also sold here. |

| For the money you cannot beat this mask. Once you get the filters in and get it fitted it functions well. It seals well on my face and is very adjustable. Rubbery smelling but pretty comfortable to wear for long periods of time. |

Gas Mask., 07/15/2007 |
| Reviewer: Deckman59 |
| These gas masks are a great buy! I use mine as nuisance masks in the construction business. They are very comfortable to wear for long periods. Breathing is easier in these masks than any I have ever tried. Filters last a long time and can be air blown out to a good degree for re-use. Do not wet the filters to clean them. Water will make them totally disfuntional. I tried water clean to test a set. Good thing replacement filters are inexpensive too.
Thanks CTD for a super buy! Deckman59 |
