M1 Carbine magazine pouch constructed of cotton with snap closures on front, male snap on the inside sleeve that slides over the buttstock, marked "US", correct style and pattern to accompany your weapon, current production, imported. Pouch holds 2-10 round stripper clips when attached to the gun, or 2-10 round magazines when attached to a belt.
The original design of this pouch was to wear on a belt, pack, or vest this is the reason it has a snap on the inside of the sleeve.

I bought one of these almost a year ago for my Auto-Ordnance carbine, and wanted to get plenty of shooting time in with it before I posted a review.
This pouch seems well made and fits my carbine well. I had to remove the stock in order to get it on, but that means that the sleeve wont slide off and become lost. The 15 round magazines do fit, but they're tight. The pouch looks good on the rifle and makes for a comfortable cheek rest. It does slightly change the balance of the rifle, but that may not be a bad thing depending on personal preference.
This pouch also has a snap on the inside of the sleeve, which could scratch you stock, but my stock still looks good after almost a year. I do not know the purpose of this snap but I assume it has something to do with a different form of mounting that I am not familiar with.
All in all, I think it is a good product that I will recommend, and even if you decide that you don't like it on your stock, you can always wear it on your belt.
Worth It

After i figured out the way to put it on it slid right into place. I thnik it is great and it gives the carbine a great look also. While on the gun it only will accept the stripper clips. On a belt though it will hold two mags.

I found another use, works great on a Ruger 10/22. It can hold two 50 round cardboard boxes of .22 ammo.

I originally purchased this for my M-1 but have since found another use for it. I have put them on my shot guns. One can only put four 12 guage shells in the pouch but the flap insures that the shells dont fall out, unlike other shot gun shell holders. And I might add, it looks pretty cool! As for the button scratching the stock, I removed the button and sealed the hole up so as to prevent it from fraying.

mag pouch slipped on to my 43 inland with just a little effort. did not have to take weapon apart, came back off easy too. worked well on stock with 10 round mags. holds 15 rounders on the belt no problem. better than useing pockets. will buy more in near future.
Won't fit M1 carbine

I didn't have any problems getting this onto my M1 Carbine, but it will not accept standard 15 round magazines while on the buttstock of the weapon. It may work as a pistol belt ammo pouch (I have not yet tried it), but it will not carry standard mags on the weapon.
Great

Just got this today, Its great, Gives a good look to the carbine. I just had to remove the reciever/barrel group to get it on. Its not that hard, IT IUNVOLVES ONE SCREW on the front of the carbine where the sling goes and push that little lever inward and slide it forward the remove the barrel/reciever . Now i need to get 10 round mags to i can put nags in it. Geat buy. I recommend getting this if you want to put so good looks on the carbine.

The pouch looks fine and accepts the magazines fine but not on the stock. My stock has been made smaller in the pistol grip area and still the pouch will not accept the magazines The pouch fits the stock but not with magazines. It appears to be well made and will work nicely on my pistol belt. I would recomend it but not for use on the stock.

This is a great mag pouch, i haven't had any trouble with it damaging the stock. Hard fit but you can take your gun apart.
It will hold the 15 rd mags but its a tight fit. Great price!

DO NOT USE ON STOCK

The snap on the "INSIDE" of the sleeve will DAMAGE your stock as it is currently designed. Only use it on a belt. It is a big honking piece of metal which will damage your original or custom stock.
Very nice pouch!

Unlike some of the other reviewers, I am very happy with my pouch. It looks sharp on my M1 carbine stock. Good quality and tough. At first a little hard to get the 15 round clips all the way in; but, with some patience and letting it stretch out, now they go in and out fine. Later I obtained an authentic GI pouch and I have to say, other than the markings and coloring, I find little difference between them.
just ok

I have a vintage (43) mag pouch and this one is a different color and made from a more flimsy material. It does an OK job, but I doubt it will hold up like the old ones would. The US logo is also a different size and type font - so it has that 'knockoff' look from across the room
Not a bad purchase

I bought one of these mag pouches recently for my 1960's National Ordinance M1 Carbine. It fits over the butt-stock after taking the gun apart but will not close with the 15 round mags inside it. I believe thats my mistake, misreading the description, not CTD's :P I was kind of disappointed by that, but, it'll still work great on a pistol belt. so its totally not a bad purchase. Also, was a slightly different color, being a more tanish-green than the one pictured.
Nice! Mag pouch!!

I realy like the 3 mag pouches I ordered! I only give it 4 bullets becouse it doesnt fit on the gun well it is very loose on my M1 Carbine. However, it works great on a belt! and you can use both 10 round and 15 round magazines in the pouch! Awsome mag pouches, realy cool and authentic looking! I would recommend these to anyone with a M1 Carbine!
