This is a mixed review. Tight fit, rugged, metal protective plate on bottom, locks the bolt open after last round. Lifetime warranty. I bought 5 of these to cure my feed problems with my metal magazines. I cycled the feed spring on each mag numerous times to break it in. Three of the mags broke in fine and work flawlessly. The other two would hang up ocassionaly when compressing/decompressing the feed spring. This may cause a feed problem later so I requested Tapco to send me two replacements. They honored their warranty and even paid for return shipping. These mags work much better than the metal ones that I had been using. My feed problems have been cured. I highly recommend that you purchase this product.

I tried all the other mags that you can get for the sks and this one is far the best, note that you have to shoot a few rounds through in order to get past the fact that plastic has a friction factor more than steel does but don't worry about that because cycling rounds eases that problem and then it's smooth sailing. Also remember to follow all the instructions on how you should attach or dis attach because plastic does break eventually........BUT THAT IS WHY TAPCO OFFERS THIS WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY so you really can't beat this deal. The steel mags really aren't designed right anyway.

I own one of these right now along with a few other detachable and non-detachable clips for my sks and this is by far the best one. So far in the time that I have owned it along with my Tapco T-6 stock... I have had ZERO malfunctions of any kind. I mean none whatsoever. And I'm not just a range rat, since the addition of these two components my rifle has been dropped on concrete, dunked in the creek, laid out in ridiculously high and low temperatures, suffered through typical alabama humidity in the summer, been bashed against the ground, beaten against heavy bags, used as a workout tool, and more... it still fires perfect, no jams, no misfeeds, not a thing. And I'm still just as accurate. The clip has been phenomenal and I intend on getting plenty more for my rifle.

I have a yugo with factory stock and later Tapco stock.All three mags work flawlessly.

Worked GREAT. I got these for my Yugo 59/66 and have had NO feeding problems. I did need to fit it to the wood stock, as it says. This was very easy and I had it done in about 5 min with a dremal drill. I will buy more!

I've read ALL the reviews, and without a doubt these ARE the best mags for the SKS! After fightin with the steel mags, I got fed up and wanted something totally reliable. These are the way to go. I bought two of them to test them out and I couldn't be more pleased. I've talked with some members of the SKS discussions boards, and all of them praise the Tapco mags.I have to completely agree with them 100 percent!!I was amazed at what a difference these mags made! This is a great mag. At first I had some feed problems. A friend who had the same magazines said to manually load and unload it several times and store it with 20 rounds in it to break in the spring. Then it will hold 20 rounds and feed fine. After that, my tapco mags work fine and load all 20 rounds without any problems.

This mag locked in tight. Fed rounds with very little adjusting. Seems to be very sturdy, and come on . . . Looks BAD@$$! Thanks TAPCO, now as many of my predecessors have suggested 30 and 40 round it up!

After reading the reviews, I must agree this is the mag to buy. I bought a SKS that came with the 30 round Pro Mag, and the thing wouldnt work if you put more than 10 rounds in it. Bought one of these Tapco mags, and it functions perfect. Going to buy at least 2 more.

There was a time when detachable magazines for the SKS was a fool's errand. That time is over.

I got one of these along with a tapco stock, love the stock hate the mag! It sat to low in my norinco and the would never pick up a single round. Tried the mag in a few other sks's at my local gun store and all looked like the same problem was occuring. I had to modify the mag by building up the ledge that the mag release catched. I used lock tights version of mighty putty to do the trick. I works better now but still jams now and then.

I read the reviews on a lot of different clips and this seemed to be the best. Bought one with the Tapco stock (awesome stock by the way) I have a Russian made SKS and this mag fits perfect, unloads perfect, and locks the bolt when empty. I plan to buy more. ...Hey Tapco make a thirty round clip already..... 30 rounds is the only reason others are trying those cheap metal ones!!!!

If you purchase one of these, be aware of this issue ahead of time. There is a great chance that you'll need to file a rounded edge on one side of the mag where it locks in the round. Test out the mag by cycling the bolt and you will see where the usual hangup will occur. Simply file off the edge where the round will get stuck, and this mag will work with no problems. I do notice that if I go over 16 rounds, I sometimes have feed issues, but if loaded no more than 15 at a time it's good to go. You can tell when you hit the point because you'll feel and hear the spring click in. Two of these mags I have do the exact same thing. If you don't mind this, they are great detachable mags to stock up on.

Short read: If you get a new stock (like the Fusion/T6) get this too! It worked well for me and my Norinco SKS with Tapco Fusion stock. I have to say I was sceptical about a poly mag for an sks. So, I ordered one. It was very stiff at first and not feeding properly, but after stuffing and unstuffing it with 20 rounds a few times, I found that it holds and cycles 18 rounds perfectly. Sometimes I got all 20 cycle, but I just load 18 now, it's better than the original 10! I do like the detachable mag over using the fixed mag with stripper clips, increased capacity is great, too. With ordering just one, I have to say its a good product, not great, but worth the money. I will get more... CTD was fast with shipping and service was great. Thanks CTD!

I purchased 3 of these mags from CTD and was amazed by them, they fed just fine, they fit perfectly in my friends SKS with a synthetic stock, i had to do a little sanding on my wooden stock (not looking for collecting value,just a shooter)and it fits fine now, if not a little tight, i am going to bevel the mag well so it slides in easier and faster. there is a little plastic that gets chewed up by the reciever at first, but they fit and fire everytime, will be ordering more soon

This is the first clip that fit and worked well in my SKS.

Purchased one of these and did a test run for feed. Anything coming from the right side fed fine, left side got stuck every time on my yugo SKS using T-6 stock. Luckily since it's polymer (plastic) I had no trouble filing the left side into a rounded edge, and it feeds great now. I would give it 5 stars for use if it wasn't for having to mod it, but considering it took 30 seconds and the file on my leatherman to do it, I still say it's well worth it!

I bought 2 of these based on all the great reviews. I took them out to test. My weapon has been reliable to this point, but with these clips there was constant jamming. The bullets just wouldnt feed. Both clips equally bad.(I tried everything) The best I got was 2 rounds in succession, then back to another jam. I just got ripped off here. Whats with all the great reviews?

This magazine works very well. I originally bought a 30 rd. steel magazine and it failed horribly. It was hard to load, didn't feed properly and the fit was less than desirable. These mags are durable, easy to load and fit well with my chinese SKS with Tapco stock. The price is great too. I'm gonna buy quite a few of these.

just received my tapco 20 rnd mag today, great product, and quick change out, i just figured since i have the tapco t6 stock that i would give it a try, haven't been to the range with it yet though, but from reading must of the reveiws, it should work flawlesly, so much better than the 10 rnd stocker, and adds a bit of intemidation to the rifle

I ordered two Tapco 20 rounders a few days ago and they arrived today. They are well made, the springs are tight but not too tight (perfect) and they came to me exactly as described and quickly. They fit perfectly in my Norinco SKS, (I modified the magazine well just a bit when I bought it a few years ago.) Mine was an excellent experience. 5 bullets.

I was not sure to get a plastic magazine for my SKS but after reading all the reviews i bought one for the price. I figured that if it doesn't work, oh well its a few bucks. But i was blown away at how reliable and simple it is. I got my 1st one and fired about 75rd through it without any problem. Soon as i got home i bought another one and in the past few months fired hundreds of rounds though each magazine without a hitch up. By far the best bang for your dollar and will blow any other SKS magazine in your search out of the water.

I have a norinco sks with a folding stock and these mags work so well, I have not had one jam what so ever I own 9 of these magazines and all have been flawless. The only problem I have is that Tapco needs to make these in 30 and 40 round mags. I love the way they fit and function! I give them (tapco) 2 thumbs up! Please make these in higher capicity!!!!!!!

You know, I usually despise polymer magazines with all my inner soul. However this one surprised the hell out of me. Fits my Yugo SKS like a glove with no modifications needed. Gonna have to buy more of these.

This magazine was the first thing I ever bought from this site. I saw that there were over a hundred good reviews for the magazine but I was still a little worried. I wasn't even sure exactly what kind of SKS I had, so I was worried it might not fit well. When it arrived to my house, it snapped right in for a nice tight fit. This magazine is awesome, no B.S.! I can't believe it was this price. I've seen the same one on other sites for much more. It only took about three days to get to my house, and they even give you a tracking number on your email receipt so you can follow it in the mail. I am going to buy 2 more of these so I have one in each color and I’m going to get another black one because it looks sweet! I also picked up the AK 47 cleaning kit which is also awesome and fits my SKS perfectly.

After reading the reviews I ordered two for my 1950 russian sks. I did have to round off the two front corners of the mags to fit.(no suprise I had to do it with every one I have used steel or plastic) I let both mags sit for a day or two loaded before using them. I shot 300 rnds with them with only one jam on the first mag, but then worked perfect.

This magazine is great, works wonderful. No jams what so ever. Works ten times better any of my metal mags. And, for me, it is so easy to load, even my girl can load it, even up to the last bullet. Plus it holds 21 rounds, not 20! I have a Russian Tula 1954 SKS, it works great with the orginal stock and parts and add on stocks or accessories. I am going to buy a bunch more!

I have been trying every mag under the sun for my norinco sks this is the only mag that works. all the different types of metal mags suck, havent tryed the tapco 30 rd yet, but these 20 rounders really work perfectly, i have personaly put 500 rds through one of mine before i went ahead and bought more, i never had one malfinction, not one. these are the way to go, i was afraid the platic would be flimsy or loose in my weapon, not so, the plastic is surprizingly tough and durable and fits like a glove. i highly recomend buying these and not wasting money on anything else.

I have tried many magazines for my Norinco SKS, most fit loosely, or the springs were just too sloppy to ensure reliability. I was getting very frustrated till I read the reviews on this product and decided to give it a try. I purchased two and they fit perfectly snug in the Tapco T6 stock. 200 rounds without a jam is by far the best results I've gotten from any mag. Don't waste your money on any others. How many times are you really going to need 30 rounds instead of 20 anyway?

I recently bought 2 of these based on reviews. Installation was far from a snap because I have a wooden stock--as mentioned in the description, you need to modify wooden stocks quite a bit for these to fit. While this isn't a big deal, it's a bit of a pain in the butt and requires a lot more than a bit of sanding--I took out up to 1/8" off either side of the area the magazine seats in. The springs are also quite stiff when you first get these. I suggest doing what I did, cram the full 20 rounds in it (if you can) and let the springs rest overnight. They should be much easier to load afterward!

It's not like that stamped metal piece of junk, this fit the first time i put it in !!! and works great in my type-56 sks!!!!

Ordered this mag with a hope and a prayer. Haven't had much luck with removable mags for the SKS. I have a Norinco in a Tapco stock and the mag worked perfectly. This is a wonderful product! Fit my yugo sks with my t6 composite tapco stock perfectly. And to top it off, it holds the bolt back after the last round is ejected. You cant get that with other duck-billed sks magazines! Plan to purchase more!

I bought three of these for my Chinese/Tapco SKS. They are pretty easy to load, although through the loading process they can let bullets slip right out. But once fully loaded, the rounds are secure. They are light weight, sturdy and seem to work well after shooting them empty. Overall, excellent magazines.

Bought 3 of these based on the reviews and I don't regret it. Best magazines period. None have ever jammed on me and they fit right into my stock perfectly. Best deal on here.

I have five of these to go with my Norinco / Tapco T6 gun. They do not reliably lift the rounds fast enough to feed. Problem seems much worse when it is very cold out, but they have just never been reliable in my otherwise very reliable gun. Oh well. - JM.

I purchased a new 40 year old SKS and from day on it did not like to feed from the left side of the magazine. About every 3-4 rounds it would jam with the bullet missing the barrel and suck in the left corner. Some even pushed the bullet into the case. Not good. Put one of these 20 round magazines in and magic problem solved and the gun shoots great now. I will be buying more for sure. Had to do some trimming of the wood stock to allow it to fit.

Bought one of these since all the reviews were so good... and you guys aren't lying !! There is now way I can go back to the metal mag after using this Tapco mag. I plan on getting at least one more of these and getting rid of all my old mags. If you're looking for a GREAT, RELIABLE magazine.. buy this one !! Dropped my Russian SKS into a Tapco T6 and got a couple of these. Had 3 stovepipes on the first day of shooting(with some Czech wax-coated steel case junk), but they've been fantastic ever since.

i bought a t6 stock and one of these magazines. at first it would not feed. after i got it loaded for the third time it started feeding better. now it feeds great.

i bought 2 of these. they worked great. There was no jamming nor heaitations i recomend this to any one who wants a trouble free day of shooting

I bought one of these tapco mags for my russian sks. had to do a little sanding and filing to the wood stock so the mag fits right. These mags work wonderfully and now my father wants a few too. I plan on buying many more. They work better than any other detachable mag Ive ever had.

This mag works great in my Norinco, but will not fit my Russian (Russian is in a T6 stock). Actually looks really good even with a wooden stock.

At first was disapointed, I never had a mag that had a "break in" period. but after a few loads the break in period was over and I have not had one problem with the mags since...I have never found a metal mag that worked as good as these do.

Great magazine for SKSs. I bought 2 of these & have fired 100 rounds out of each. In 200 rounds, I had 1 round stovepipe. Rest fed flawlessly. In my opinion, this is perfection in my Norinco. In contrast, the steel mags I've tried (4 types) stovepipe every 5th round & it seems to be normal for steel mags to miss the feed ramp & cram the bullet-tip against the bottom edge of the barrel, compressing the bullet into the casing.

Bought two of these and think they are a great buy and plan on purchasing more before the price goes up too much. Shipping was fast and reasonable. Thanks CTD for a great catalog of cool stuff.

I was about to give up on my sks and sell it , I have tried several metal clips that just would not work at all, and was reluctant to buy a plastic one until I read the reviews and decided to try it got it today and it works flawlessly. thanks Tapco for a great product and thanks cheaper than dirt for a quick delivery.

I now own 5 of these magazine and they work flawless. 20 seems to be the magic number with out jamming when it comes to sks magazines. These load easy and feed flawlessly. I highly recommend.

good mags, ordered 3 and all fired good, snug at first in a chinese sk but broke in well.

Decided to clean out the closet and low and behold found me an old sks. Cousins told me it was a piece of junk, fidgeted and cleaned it up a bit, bought a new scope and cheek rest and a couple of these Tapco 20 Rounders. It went from an old dirty hunk of junk jamming up with the stock metal magazine to a darned good sniper rifle. I highly recommend these magazines!

I have tried 3 different mags for my Yugo M59/66 sks. This is the only mag I have found that fits perfectly WITHOUT any modifications whatsoever. In fact, it's the only mag I have tried that works at all. Highest quality and perfect performance.

I have purchased other SKS magazines and these are by far the best that I have for my yugo SKS . I havent had any problems with the 2 that I ordered and CTD was very fast on shipping them to me.

Best sks mag you can buy. It is even better than the tapco Ak47 mags. Seems to be the same spring in both, so with it only being 20 rounds it works good. Fits yugos, and chinese perfectly.

I purchased 2 of these mags when I bought the new stock and scope for my Zastava. I have had zero problems with the mags. I had to hold my tongue just right to load them with the stripper clips, but everytime I pulled the trigger I got my bang. That's what counts. They seem to be durable enough for the long haul, but only time will tell. They're well worth the money.

I own 4 of these mags and would reccommend to anyone. There is a short break in period and then u will have not one problem. Tapco has made it fun again to own an sks.

Junk! This was not drop in. I have a standard Russian SKS and it didn't fit at all. In past have been able to get metal ones to fit. Bummer. And the reviews are what sold me.

Got 3 of these and used them on a Norinco with the Tapco glass filled nylon stock. No problems at all.

Absolutely awesome magazine. I had heard the horror stories of detachable mags until I tried this one-now I have four of them!

This is a great little mag for the price. I broke my normal habit of only buying steel mags to try this polymer one. It fits very nice with the Monte Carlo stock that I have. The spring did need to be broken in a little, but that's to be expected with almost any new mag. I just loaded it, then put it in the riffle and cycled it threw the action manually a few times, it solved that problem really fast. And that way there's no disappointment at the range when you jam because of an "unbroken" spring.

AT first this clip didnt do so hott jamming the first couple of shots and then I broke it in and it did great....I have prolly run a couple hundred shots through it and its still Working great!!! The only reason i didnt give it the full 5 bullets is because its plastic but its whatever it works!!!

I bought this mag after trying a metal 30rd mag from a local gun shop. the reviews that had been written proved to be true. the mag fit perfect in both my woo stock and the tapco t6 stock. I shot 40 rds out of it today and had no jams. the first 20 i shot just as fast as I possibly could and the second a shot slowly and had absolutely no problems with. I love this mag just wish I had bought more while they were available.

I bought three of these with my TAPCO Fusion stock and bipods. These are truly great mags. Only had two minor feeding errors at first. As others have hinted I think they just have to like, settle into the gun. Work great now.

I have tried lots of different aftermarket SKS mags with no luck. I had accepted that it would just have a stock clip. I took a chance and tried one of these... It works great!!! as good as the factory mag. The wood stock took some filing to have enough room. Feeds good, locks back. A+

I bought 3 of these and they all work great, mine were a bit tight trying to get all 20 rounds in them but now I have 0 problems.

I just got back from the range and these mags are GREAT. I ordered two of these and put 500 rounds through the two, they were a little stiff and first but it was cold. As for jaming not once.I did notice someone said that they do not work with hollow points but all 500 rounds today were Brown Bear 123 Grain hollow points and worked great through my rifle. I will be buying more of these great magazines. Just one more great item from Tapco

I've owned one of these now for about a year and it has seen about 1,500 rds. I have had NO jams or feeding problems...and to the earlier review about HP's...this icludes Wolf MC HPs. I use Wolf MC FMJ and HP and Brown Bear FMJ, some Mil-Surp steel core, and some Wolf Polyformance HP. Never jammed on me using hollow points, and my magazine fits a little loose in the wood stock from the previous owner opening it up a little too much. A+ magazine IMO.

Mine is a Chinese rifle. Tried a metal 30 round {from CTD} and had to return it. Tried this one and thought I had that same scenero. First full 20 rounds loaded and it jammmed about every 3 shots. Loaded the second and it got a bit better {only jammed 3 times}. Third time was a charm. Fired fine, no jams. Guess it just needed to get the "new" smell off. I would recommend!!

Great mags, but I have to nock it down a peg from all these other reviews. The mags will not fire HOLLOW POINT AMMO. All you WOLF Military Classic lovers, you will not be able to fire you hollow point ammo out of these mags. No problems what so ever with FMJ ammo. Try it and you will see.

i recently purchased 8 metal 30 rd ones and 2 worked great, the rest was constant jams. finally listen to some friends and reviews, bought the tapco 20rd and know i have eight of them and have put about 75 rounds through all and so far no jams spend the money on a mag thats reliable than the cheap one.

There are many "wanna be" high capacity clips out there for the SKS. This is by far the most rugged and best built clip that fits perfectly with the Tapco collapsible stock. I have a Norinco that is in a Tapco collabsible and the clip is perfect. Just a side note, and the clip does state this on the packaging, but the bolt does have to be open to remove and replace the clip. Join the NRA to help protect your 2nd amendment rights.

Not a bad mag, have some problems feeding the rounds at times on my yugo. Just a note if any of you were curious you cannot use stripper clips to top feed it like you could with the internal mag either. It fits nicely on the synthetic tapco stock set, but the wood would require some slight modifications. All in all, not bad.

I bought my chinese sks for a varmit gun because it was cheap and nearly indestuctible as well as resonably accurate. It's not a pampered gun, and these magazines work well with it. A little dust and dirt doesn't seem to bother them and I haven't broken one yet. What's not to like?

Bought (2) of these mags a few months ago. I have a chinese carbine SKS and it was almost like the mags had to be broken in. I could only fire (1) or (2) shots before a jamb would happen. I did this for (2) 20 round full loads for each magazine and after that they worked flawlessly. Weird. Would recommend to others!

I have put about 1000 rounds through one of these in the last 3 months, and it has worked like a charm every time. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Bought this to upgrade my Chinese Norinco, along with a T6 Stock, both worked great. If using with the wood stock you might have to file the wood down a little, but well worth it!

I have shot about 100 rounds thru this mag. No jamming, every one loaded smoothly. I have a yugo sks. The metal 30 round that came with it sucked. Screwed up after every other round. This 20 round works great. Going to buy at least 3 more. Didn't have to make any adjustments. Just loaded it in, and started firing. I had forgotten how nice these guns fired. I hadn't fired one since 1970, back in 'Nam. Magazine is definiely worth the money.

this magazine is the best one out there for the sks there is only one small problem with it you only can put like 15 rounds in it if you put all 20 rounds in it. it will jam but if you put 15 rounds it wont jam but over all its a really good magazine

Bought this mag for my Norinco SKS. It fit better than any other mag I have tried. Shot 100 rounds the first time at the range without any problems. Bolt stays open after last round just like it is supposed to. This is a great magazine for the SKS rifle.

These are by far the best extended magazines I've ever used for an SKS. I have a Russian SKS 45 with an ultralight folding stock, and the two 20 round tapco magazines I've bought fit perfectly. I've shot well over 300 rounds through each of them and haven't had a single feeding problem or a stove pipe, and the magazines are still as durable as they were when I bought them. As a test, I also put one in my Dad's Yugoslavian SKS with a dragunov stock, and it fit perfectly and had no feeding problems. Add to the fact that the magazine will actually hold the bolt open after the last round, is easilly detacheable, and you can load it with stripper clips with a bit of practice, and you won't find a better extended magazine for the SKS. After spending near 200 dollars on extended magazines with none of them working reliably it was amazing to find one that actually works as well as this one.

I have two yugo sks's. After the last round is fired the bolt does not stay open, making a quick change to another magazine time consuming.

My fellow sks shooters, let me tell you I have tried and used every type, brand, and manufacturer of sks mags. There simply is not a better mag available than the tapco 20 mag.I have put over a 1000 rds. thru with no tweaking ,adjusting or tooling.When you need to depend on your weapon to operate and function properly the last thing in the world you want is a jammed weapon.USELESS!Feel confident with these mags for superior performance!

Firstly, I've read a lot of mistakes in the previous reviews. These are magazines - NOT CLIPS. Clips feed magazines, magazines feed rifles. But anyway, nothing much to say here. Installed easily into my monte carlo synthetic stock. Feeds great. Durable. Good stuff!

With 1-2 minutes of investigation and filing, the clip fit like a glove. Tight, no shaking or rattling. The clip catch works like a dream. Fired 80 rounds right after installation, not one jam! It also works on my friends Yugo, which has major problems cycling any crappy metal clips (which bend like a matchbox) The ONLY clip you will want to buy if you are actually going to shoot your SKS. Also, a 20 rnd clip is much more lo-profile than a 30, making prone shots much easier, especially using the bayonet as a monopod. Will still load using conventional strippers if you only want to buy one.

great mag. using a 80 grit flap wheel on the end of my drill. I was able to sand down the sides to fit in the org. stock on my china SKS. Feeds great! front mag catch, locates perfectly. rear mag. catchs good and soild.

This is by far the best clip you can buy for your SKS. I own a Russian and a Yugo SKS. They work ok in the wood stocks - some jamming - but once I replaced the stocks with the ATI folder and the Fiberforce, they havn't had an issue. After the mag is empty the bolt stays open - Awesome!!!! You can change the clip out all easy, no need to have 3 hands - Hahaha. Buy them up!!!

Well I bought 2 of these mags to test out for my Yugo SKS, my SKS came with a steel 35 round pile of crap that only worked as long as you didn't put more then 7 rounds in it so I wasn't about to buy another steel clip. After putting about 500 flawless rounds threw the tapco clips I decided to order 4 more of these babys. Awsome and worth every cent

These are by far the best mags I've ever had. Ran 300 rounds through my Norinco with them today and NOT A SINGLE JAM!!!! Fit well without any modifications to the Fiberforce Dragunov stock. They are about half the price of the crappy steel 30 rounders at the gun shop too. Thumbs up Tapco, buying two more right now.

Bought my SKS and thought that I had made a huge mistake. Metal clip that came with it would not feed or would jam. Bought 2 of these clips and WOW what a difference. Just went to the range today and went through 100 rounds each with no problems. scope kit is also a great buy for the sks with a little filing necessary.

let me say first of all, if you don't have a yogo, your sks sux and you need to get one, this mag is by far the best on the market. I have 10 of them and i have no problems. NONE. If you notice the people writing bad reviews about this mag it's because of the norinco or the russian junk their tring to put the mag in. BEST SKS MAG EVER

I think we all know that if sks mags are on the list, then this is the one you want. The diminished capacity of 20 rounds was a bit of a problem for me. however, the ease of use and reliability of these mags are terrific. tappered catch easily allows you to insert the mag without slapping it into place, holds bolt back on last round, and is heavy enough to drop from your weapon under its own weight. i suggest an extended catch. you wont be sorry. There is however a couple of small draw backs to using this mag. other mags such as my USA mags accept strippers with no problem at all. but Tapco mag is going to need you to notch the rear with a file or dremel to accept the stripper and align it properly. otherwise you end up jamming your load around 2-3 to last round on clip. also, by no fault of tapco, its difficult to find proper pouches or rigs for duckbill mags. grab a couple of dump pouches and attach to your molle rig.

I have bought 3 already. I've had no problem out of them. Shot at least 4oo rounds through each of them. I will buy more, and tell everyone to buy Tapco products!!

The first time i used it, I loaded a full 20 rounds into it. Every other round spit too far up and got caught by the action. A month later my brother used it and it performed flawlessly. Its an exceptional magazine, just got to break it in.

took it out of the box loaded smooth fit perfect emptied twenty no problems here great deal now i just have to find clip pouches that fit the duck bill

read alot of good stuff about this mag so i bought one to try and it worked 100% better than any other detachable mag i have used but it still jammed a few rounds every time i used it.shot 100 rounds through it and the only thing that actually works 100% is the fixed mag it came with =(

I just got one of these magazines and it only took maybe 25 min to modify my Chinese SKS for this to fit. I put the first 40 rounds through it with absolutely no problems what so ever. It’s great. I will be getting me another one soon.

Very good mag. Fit my Yugo SKS with no problems. Well worth the money. Already put a thousand rounds through it using 2 tapco mags and not even one problem!!! Just wish Tapco made them in 30 and 40 round capacity. A must have!!

I have bought 3 of these from CTD, and all are perfect. they feed just fine, have thought about getting some of the other mags, but the reviews don't seem too promising. I just hope that tapco decides to make higher capacity mags with this type of quality.

Just put the first 100 rounds through it. I had one feeding error where the the bolt tried to feed 2 rounds. Performed flawlessly after about 10 rounds though. I will purchase another before the Democrats can stop me. Great product Tapco, keep up the quality.

I had 4 steel sks mags before, and all have its own feeding problem. After reading so much good reviews about Tapco mags, I decided to order 4 for my Norinco and Yugo. I never had any problem with any. The bolt will lock back after the last round on all of them. I Highly recommend this SKS Mags.

I purchased several of these mags a few months ago for my Yugo SKS. After spending some hard earned money on the SKS steel mags and receiving extremely poor performance, I was very pleased with the polymer mags! No feed issues, easy to maintain and definately "heftier" than their competition. My only wish is that they'd make this magazine in 30 and 40 rnd capacity....and possibly a 90-100 rnd drum. I endorse this item and will be purchasing more very soon.

HAVE BEEDN USING TWO OF THESE MAGS FOR NINE MONTHS. PROBABLY FIRED OVER 1000 ROUNDS WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS. MATTER OF FACT I JUST ORDERED ANOTHER ONE.

I got to admit, I was very leery of purchasing a detachable mag for my Nornico SKS. I have heard so many rumors of this being a fantasy for SKS owners. After receiving my mags I am impressed! I looked at probably 50 different magazines and settled on the TAPCO after reading the reviews. Most reviews for the other magazines were complaints of people having to smith and modify to an extreme just for unreliable performance. I am not particularly scared of this as I am a maintenance mechanic, but I prefer for things to be right rather than rigged. My SKS had a built in 10 rd magazine. It was easy enough to remove. If you properly clean your gun then you have removed it already. That was it. The mag slid right into place like it belonged there. After loading the mag (which I havent done since my military days) I then reinserted it and checked the action. I will say that if your the type of person that slides the carrier forward slowly it will jam. If you just release it there will be no issues and the action will be smooth. After firing it on the range I found the bolt does lock back after the last round and I have had no issues with jamming. No worries of holding the carrier back and trying to detach the mag. I will say that this is the best investment I have made for my SKS. Coupled with my Dragunov stock and scope it also gives the look of a real tactical rifle that the SKS is. If you have a Nornico with an internal mag give it a shot. I promise the fit will be great and you will be just as happy as I am.

Haven't shot with it yet but I filled and emptied the clip just sliding the action and it works great after i shaved a little off of the each side of the hood. Also took a little bit of shaving on the corners. All in all good mag. Looks AWESOME with my new TAPCO stock.

These magazines work great! I use one in my YUGO SKS, and have had no problems yet! I also tried one in my buddies Chinese SKS(No problems either) These are VERY-High quality magazines. I have NEVER had any problems with steels SKS mags, But these are still the best! Tapco needs to make a 30 ROUND magazine like this!

As anyone with an SKS that takes external mags knows, most of them are absolute crap. After reading the good reviews for this mag, I bought one of these to test. At the same time I added a Choate Dragunov stock to my Russian SKS, and this mag fits into it PERFECTLY (incidentally, it also fit into the wooden stock without modification, but not as beautiful a fit as with the synthetic). I loaded and speed fired all the rounds in the mag as quickly as I could three times, and had no problems at all. This is all with Wolf ammo. Only problem I had was that since the spring was so tight I could only fit 19 rounds into the mag, but perhaps it will loosen a bit in time. I'm going to buy 3 or 4 more of these mags this week. Good buy.

I purchased this mag. a couple weeks ago and it works perfectly on my yugo sks. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has a yugo sks, don't know how they fit on the other models but will do fine on the Yugo's.

Simply awesome. Tried other metal clips for my Norinco SKS and this is the only one that fits perfectly. Ive shot two full clips with speed and its still on. Hard composite plastic. Great deal.

Well, ordered 3 after reading about how great they are... Had to file to fit and the worst part is after last rond is ejected, the spring is not high enough or strong enough to trigger the bolt catch thus you have to hold back bolt with one hand while hitting the release AND pulling the mag out with other hand... Easier said than done. Can already see polymer starting to chip away where mag catch clicks it locking it in place. Definetly going to need the warranty! Also, I found that casings without a good smooth coat will FTF jamming sideways before chambering properly. Mostly use Brown Bear tho and that feeds well. 2 because it fits.... but has it's own set of problems.

I have purchased the whole tapco polymer stock and 20rd mag for my norinco and would highly recommend the whole set to anyone looking for a great and reliable product. I have never had a better 20rd mag

Bought 2 for my Norinco SKS... Spent HOURS trying to make them fit. After several hours with a die grinder they finally fit OK. Had feed problems with both, and today the top lip of the mag cracked (no grinding in this area)... Not worth the $$ but I would like to keep a bottom loading mag since I have a scope on the rifle.

After purchasing this magazine and shooting 380 rounds out of it in my Yugo sks, I can't say enough about this magazine. It feeds the ammo like a champ and I plan on buying a couple more!!!!! For everyone on a search for a darn good magazine for their Yugo........Your search is over!

Like a lot of other reviews here I have bought 5 metal mags and have only been able to get one to work in my Yugo SKS. I didn't get the Tapco because I thought the Polymer would look cheap. I decided to try it after seeing the reviews here and a clip on youtube showing it in action. It looks great, fires flawlessly. It also seems to snap into place without having to do the three handed upside down mag install the metal mags cause. I am ordering a couple more.

I took the ProMag 30 rounder back to the gunshop and got this Tapco 20 rounder instead. This is a good one here. No problem.

The steel 30 round mags didn't work for sh*t in my SKS. But this one feeds flawlessly every time. Great product. Stay away from the 30 round steel mags tho.

All I can say is DAMN! Absolutely flawless feeding! I have wasted hundreds of dollars on metal clips that dont feed, this one acts as if it was made at the factory. Buy this one and you wont be disappointed I promise. I installed it into my Chinese model 59 w/ fiberforce dragonov stock and it operated flawlessly. All 300 rounds at the range today went BOOM! I recieved a no-name 40rd steel magazine when I bought my Russian SKS and it feeds flawlessly, as does the stock 5 rounder. This mag on the other hand.... I have used it a total of four times now and it will stay in my range bag from now on. Fill it with 20 rounds and watch it jam! For some reason this magazine tries to feed 2 rounds at a times into my gun.

This mag is everything I like. It just won't feed after 15 rounds. I've tested all 3 of the mags that I bought from CTD, and they all had the same problem. They just won't feed that 16th round into my Norinco SKS. I've tinkered with them a little, but nothing has given. But... good thing is, at least I have 3 dependable 15 round mags. It definitely beats having 3 duds.

I bought one of these after reading all the positive reviews. Got to say it's all true. Best mag I have ever used for an SKS. Beats any metal one I have had all to heck. I currrently have a Chinese and a Yugo SKS, both with aftermarket composite stocks. The Tapco works flawlessly with both. They are suprisingly sturdy too. I just put in an order for 3 more. Get yours while you can. Works with the cheap russian ammo, which makes for a a lot of good fun shooting.

I purchased a Yugo that lacked the stock 10 rounder magazine. I eventually got one... but blasting away at the dirt mound... 10 rounds wasn't enough. I did my research... these are great mags, never had a mis feed of any type. I keep the stock 10 rounder on when at home... at the ranges though I lock my tapco 20 on. I have it filed down and slightly modified to use stripper clips (takes strippers fairly well if you got a strong hand for those last 5 or so rounds). I use this with my wood stock. You have to take a good file to the inside of the stock in the mag area. You will need to take off about 1/8th an inch on each side (where the magazine is the largest) to make it fit. Oiled up the wood inside... fits like a dream 30 minutes of work. Stock 10 rounder still fits fine.

This is the best detachable mag for sks on the market. I've even found that it fits yugo's wood stocks without and changes. I shot with this baby and it performed flawlessly. all the others had better bow down and worship the king.

I checked out a bunch of reviws before I bought two of these magazine. I watched videos on Youtube.com and read reviw after review. I got these magazines fedex 3 to 5 day delivery today. I can't tell you how awesomethey are!!!! Other peope have complained that they had problems loading round twenty into the magazing, but I had no problems with both mags. The fit my Yugo perfectly, and the costruction is flawless. And they look cool as hell. I was going to sell my Yugo at he next gun show, but no I am keeping it. You can't go wrong with this product!!!

I had finally finished upgrades to my SKS, Maxed out every thing except for mags I spent about $400 to find a mag that finally works, I have went through mags that cost as much as $75 ran through one time and garbage the next. This one works great if it doesn't something is wrong with your rifle this mag worked great in my dads SKS as well! It is perfectly made I took it down to the river in WV ran it through about 280 rounds not a miss or jam or double feed you experience others. If you drop the mag loaded, unloaded your not screwed like with others your search is over!! RC

I bought two and I can't describe how much I love them! They work better than any detachable mag out there, don't rattle, they're sturdy, and simple look cool! I have had one or two jams, but I think it was the ammunition rather than the mag. I reckoned it to anyone and would buy more in a heart beat!

i just purchased 3 Tapco 20 rd clips. i am very pleased with them. they load and feed very easy. if the spring feels tight, just keep workin em in and let em set overnight. if i find any issues with them i will be sure to post again.

These are the best mags I've been able to find for my yugo. I have not found a 30 round mag that actually functions correctly in a yugo, so I went for these. I have 8, and all of them work just fine. You can tell they are made well when you pick one up for the first time. Very sturdy. The only problem I've ever had is one of the mags was very tight when loading round number 20. I let the mag sit fully loaded for about 24 hrs. and I seemed to load better. Very nice mag.

I bought one of these for my sks, as I had gotten tired of all the highly touted magazines that didn't work. I even shelled out $75.00 about a year ago when I was planning to get the sks to get one of the rare Chinese 20 round fixed magazines. When I finally got my sks, I did countless hours of work on that darned thing, filing the lips and trying to smooth out every imperfection, and still couldn't get 20 off without a jam. I got this, filed the feed lips just a little bit to get it to match those of my original 10 rounder, and put 100 rounds through it on rapid fire, andnot a single jam. It even courteously held the bolt open for me every time, something that the Chinese piece of junk only did about half the time! I am getting four more and an AK bandolier this weekend. With this magazine, a Techsights TS100 aperture, TS152 target front post, $50.00 competition muzzle brake, trigger job, and shooting .5MOA at 100 meters, this SKS is now a beauty.

This is hands down the Best mag you can buy for your SKS interms of Fitting and feeding on My Yugo with the Tapco stock ...after my first I bought 3 more...They are GREAT...cant wait till they get the other colors... FYI... These mags are $17.97 at the actual cheaper than dirt store just in case U live in the Dallas Fort WOrth Texas Area..... :)

I have had problems with mags since I converted my SKS to a T-6 stock. With this mag, it feeds perfectly, fits perfectly and has no problems with whatever quality ammo I decide to put through it. I'm buying a few more right now!!!!!!!!!

So far, so good. I haven't put it "through the ringer" yet, so to speak, but so far this magazine functions flawlessly, no jams of any kind, easy enough to insert and remove. A little tricky using stripper clips (bolt has tendency to attempt closing whilst operator is still loading at times) but this might just be operator headspace and timing as well. I'm working on it. Great magazine, I'll gladly buy another.
