Cheap junk. It wouldn’t even load. Trash. I returned it. Avoid the headache, don’t buy it.

This mag never jammed and no modification was needed. Loading it can be a pain sometimes but other than that it works well for me.

I bought one of these and used it yesterday. I can load 2- 10 round stripper clips into it with ease. Getting the third one is a chore. It's easier loading the magazine one by one after 20. My buddy bought one of these and the first one wouldn't even fit his SKS. After comparing it to mine we could see it was welded up all twisted. He sent it back. The exchange fit his gun but wouldn't chamber the round. The bullet was too low. So, after some manual bending the mag, we got it to chamber. Then, during the first use, the thing just came apart. The welds broke. I'm happy (for the most part) with mine. But, I won't order another one.

I looked good fit well but did not work at all the rounds will not chamber at all.

These are the only ones I buy. Plastic does not work at all on my norinco. Tried zytel and promag and all i got was took for shipping. I have absolutely no issue with these mags.

I bought 2 of these thinking higher priceand metal would be the best. On a Chinese SKS had to tap with a leather hammer to get it to go in all the way. Took that one out. Tried to load and would only hold 14 rounds. Don't waste your money. Check the reviews on the non-metal, I wish I would have before I bought these.

Bought one, has survived about 500 rounds so far. A bit flimsy, but really no complaints. Mine locks my bolt open when empty, so reloading is easy. 4 bullets.

i bought 1 of these mags just to see if they worked, the mag i recieved does not engage the bolt catch when the mag becomes empty, also you can't insert or remove mags wile the bolt is closed, the bolt must be locked open. so if you empty a mag and remove it to place a full one in, the bolt slams shut and you must manualy hold the bolt open to put in the new mag, which is very ackward. also the mag will not hold more than 21 rds, after 21 rds the mag will no longer seat bullets properly and will cause lots of jams and malfunctions. against my advice my brother also bought 4 of these mags for his own sks. every mag was different, each one had a different set of problems and they were welded togeather at differing angles for each mag. some of the mags would not fit in the weapon, some would not seat or feed rds, some had feed lips that were longer or shorter and bent at bad and differing angles. however none would lock the bolt open and none would hold more than 21 or 22 rds.

Had problems right from the start, had to modify feed so that the shells would even move. Can't load clip with 30 rounds or they don't angle and just jam up. In my opinion, this mag isn't worth what I paid for shipping.Get a good mag and use this one as a target.

After reading all these negative comments I guess I was the lucky one. Installed easily, works great! Would give it a 5 but the material used is a bit flimsy, not sure how long it'll last.

It is cheap...not inexpensive,,,,CHEAP. It is a flimsy, thin, piece of junk. It has never worked since we got it. DO NOT BUY IT !!

These arent too great but one thing you can do is buy a quality AK mag take out the follower and spring and replace the junk in theese, they fit in this mag perfectly. It works quite well after that.

I bought one of these at a gun show, brought it home, but it jammed like mad! I tried fixing the problem, but it was a waste of time. Don't buy!!!

Bad Ju Ju. Had to sand inside of receiver to insert smoothly. Jams more than doesn't. Anything more than 5 rounds and follower becomes worthless. Cheap made. Fixed box works way better. Atleast rifle looks cool with it in, but that is all it is worth. To all my Assault Rifle Toting Brethren, do not buy this magazine.

This is an alright magazine, completely usable that i have integrated into my Norinco sks with a Tapco Fusion buttstock. I noticed that if i max the mag out 30rds it's no good. There will be jamming problems. I max it out at 25 rds max and works very smooth. Not what i expected but not completley the worse.

simply put "JUNK" and waste of money,would not buy again.but don't take my word for it, go ahead and spend your money and see for your self,as i didn't pay attention to the bad reviews either.

The idea of a 30 round mag is great,it's just that they used cheap material therefore getting cheap results. would like to see how long it stays in the market before people realize it is not a good product.

Before purchasing this magazine I was very skeptical. I read all the reviews that said this mag sucks and didn't work, but when I got home I installed it in my Norinco SKS, and to my surprise with some sanding it fit nice and snug. I loaded up 30 rounds and had some issues getting a round in the chamber, but it functions with 25 rounds flawlessly. Not sure why but since that is the only issue I have had with it I am giving it 4 bullets. Thanks!

Bought 2 of these at a gun show, and like them very much, they jammed on the first 5 shots, and then performed flawlessly, i reccomend these mags to anyone.

I got two of these with my Norinco and picked up a third one eventually. I seem to have feed problems and jams with one of them about every 15 rounds or so. But the other ones which work are great, can bump fire all 30 rounds without a problem time and time again. Wish I could figure out why the one which has feed problems has them, nothing I seem to do fixes it.

These mags are fake. ctd should be imbaresed. dont waste your money. these should be removed from the product list, its a scam. Cheap and lightweight. Non-functional!!!!!

I don't know if it is my Chinese SKS or what, but everyone seems to have trouble and problems with these 30 rounders except me. Everything I have pruchased from CTD for my SKS has worked just fine with very little or no machining whatsoever including the mags. Plan on purchasing 2 or 3 more.

I have one of these mags used in my norinco sks. It took awhile but after tweaking and filing it fits and fires very well. Still like my tapco 20's because they never fail and fit and fire right out of the box

i thought i would get that 30 round sks mag i dream about.@#*! i got the same peace of poo.oo that u all got. mine broke on the same day. i put mine on easy i thout "got a good one". so here i am putting round number 10 in and @#!* ..... STAY AWAY!! STAY VARY VARY FAR!!!! U'LL THANK ME.....

Well, it fit perfectly in my stock furniture. I changed over to the TAPCO synthetic and it didn't want to fit. All I did was take a pair of needle nose and a hammer then curled the front of the duckbill in just about an eighth an inch. Now she fits pretty good, took it out today and shot it! Shoots great! Don't know what all the fuss it about? Though I have 10 of the 20 round Tapco Mags, nothing beat that fit!

I just range tested one of these the other day. Thank God I wasn't paying by the hour. It did eventually work, but I spent more time adjusting it than shooting. And when I finally did get it working, the metal tab that keeps the mag clipped in just popped off. Obviously a poor tack weld. All in all, the best I can say about it is that if you're really handy with tools, this mag will keep you busy for a while.

I purchased this mag for my yugo sks and it did not fit at all. I figured it was just that mag and since i had done so much damage to it a purchased anothe and ran into the same problem. All in all this mag in my opinion is trash!! Don't waste your money!!!

Bought two of these clips, both work well in my norinco, No jam's no fuss just plug and play.

The clip was a little dry spray some lube in it and man did it take off never had a problem with jamming or anything. After seeing what the 30 round could do i going to get the 40 round and the 5 round for hunting.

this did not fit my yugo norinco nor my romanian sks unfortunately i bought two so i wasted twice as much money i will stick to the ten round box and stripper clips because nothing is as reliable i wish i had read the reviews!

I still see that u are still selling these pieces of junk! I bought 2 and the both broke! Musta been a bad weld when the drunken mag maker didnt get the weld hot enough, also plastic junk on the insideNEVER BUY AGAIN!!! Yes , by the looks pf the reviews im another unsatisfied customer!!!!

I BOUGHT THIS CLIP (30)RD FOR MY YUGO SKS, AND IS A PIECE OF CRAP DONT WASTE UR MONEY. FIRST OFF ITS ALL WRONG NEEDS TWEEKING, SECOND AFTER YOU INTALL IT AND GET IT TO FIT UR TRIGGER WONT FIRE, SO AFTER FURTHER MODIFICATIONS NOW FIRES BUT JAMS. STICK TO THE STOCK 10 RD, ITS A PAIN TO KEEP LOADING BUT AT LEAST U WILL BE SHOOTING NOT DEAL WITH MISFIRES, JAMMING, AND ETC.

i recently purchased this mag for my norinco sks and it blows. if you dont mind the fact that the thirty round mag only will hold nine rounds before the inner parts of the mag start bending and breaking by all means buy it. makes a better target than anything.

I have used four different steel detachable mags(including these) and have never had any problems in my YUGO. No jams or anything! They are not the best quality. but they work! I still like the quality of the TAPCO 20rd mags, but these are alright.

I just got 2 mag they are great and easy to put in and I hear a lot about jams and feeding. Now I have this happen with my M-4 and I learned you just slam the mags on your body armor and it seats and line up all the rounds and that should stop it.

If you like to tinker this mag will probably work fine for you (but be ready to tinker a lot). The ears at the top of the mag need adjustment and possible filing. I still haven't had enough time to fix mine. A friendly piece of advice if you do buy one try not to put any more than 25 rounds in at a time. If you over fill it, the mag will spread and then you will have feed issues.

Bought one and it is poorly made, I have another 30 round mag I got with the gun and it works fine. This one is poorly constructed.

I don't know where they get off calling this a Military - Mfr# MAG631 mag even the Military couden even make one this bad.

I got two that will work in any sks I got one of these and there piece of junk don't wast your money on them.

I know that the best option for the SKS is the factory fixed 10 round mag. But I just had to try the 30 rounder listed here. Not only are there feed problems but I had to grind off so much of the mag just so it would fit in my SKS. 1st I had to file the duckbill as one side was several mm's higher than the other causing it to seat crooked. 2nd I had to remove the paint on the backside of the mag as it was about 1/2 inch away from attaching completely to the mag catch. Now onto the feeding issue. I had to bend tweak and grind the feed lips to ramp the cartridges properly into the rifle. Finally I applied some silicone spray onto the feedlips and spring. Now it works good.......As a target. After the mods it did fire ok but I still had issues where the last few rounds weren't feeding properly. If you have to have a hi-cap go with tapco. I use this mag as a target holder which it does a great job holding up my Osama target!!!

I got 2 of these, they don't word wortha damn...So i took 1 apart and opened up the other one and added the other mag spring...Now it works like a charm everytime. But over all not worth it.

You would be better off buying a piece of tin and try to fold and shape, and weld it, than buying this junk. I am a Viet Nam vet and have handled and used many sks's and ak's, I do not think the even the Viet Cong would keep this piece of junk. Money should be refunded to every one who has one of these laying around.

I bought two of these mags a while ago. While they fit in my pair of yugos they would not feed. I tried on several occasions to adjust them and finally got so pissed at messing with them that I put my factory mag back in. These make wonderful targets . enough said

OKay, I just got my order from Cheaper than Dirt today... I checked out a few things before I checked out the magazine... Went into my Chinese SKS just fine... Then I tried to close the action... There's no possible way in hell this SKS is going to close with the magazine in the current configuration it is in. Have no clue what I just got myself into. I compared it to the magazine that came with the SKS, the metal is cheaper (can tell by the look and texture) it's alot lighter and it just doesn't feel right. All they have to do is get the specifics of the mag right, I have no idea if it jams when firing or not, I just got it. Tried slamming the action shut and the magazine actually CAVED IN a little bit. Crazy stuff, if I could do it over again, I would have saved my money and looked elsewhere for a mag that was worth a darn.

The hi-cap still SKS mags do not fit to the rifles in 90% of cases. Regardless of model and make. Just spend the money to get some ammo – it’s getting more and more expensive. The word is that the polymer mags are good. Well, I’ve decided not to risk, but you may try. To Dave (aka “the former US Army weapons expert”): SKS was designed in 1944-45, field-tested in 1945 (Soviet-German front) and officially adopted by the Soviet Army in 1949…

Well, I'm not sure what problems everyone else is having with the steel 30-round mag, but as far as fitment is concerned the darn things fit well in my Yugo SKS. I haven't had the opportunity to test for feed issues yet, and I may change my review depending on the outcome of some "range time", but so far so good. They insert/remove easily with a little practice, and seem to be quality magazines. As a former US Army weapons expert(18B30), I can assure you that this magazine is about as good as it gets as far as ease of use. The Yugo SKS doesn't have a deep magazine well like the M16/AR 15 or similar framed semi-autos. These weapons were designed in the late 1950's, thus making them obsolete by today's weapon standards. In short, you get what you pay for. If you want a high-tech weapons system, save your money and buy something that isn't 50 years old. Just my 2 cents. Dave

I bought a 20 rnd Polymer clip and one 30 rnd steel clip to test out with my new Tapco stock for my Chinese SKS. The 20 rnd polymer loads and fires with ease, and fits the Tapco like a charm. The 30 rnd steel clip has an extended loading guard on the top, but it makes loading harder, and it gave the rifle fits with chambering each round. I tested both clips recently, and fired over 200 rounds with the Sks. After 2 tries of ammo through the 30 rnd steel clip, I gave up. Tough to load, jams in the breach, and the steel isn't even of the best quality. I'd go for the 20 rnd polymers. The reviews for them are better, and there's a reason. The polymers might seem cheaper, but they are overall just better clips to use with the Sks.

I have to apologize to anyone who reads these "reviews" - I screwed up! Several people wrote in to say that their 30 rd mags didn't go in; or, if they did fit, they didn't work like they're supposed to. I opened my big mouth, and said that someone's experience must have been with a Yugoslavian SKS. I would like to formally apologize to all - I bought a 30-rd mag, and tried for 3 days to get the damned thing to fit, with absolutely NO luck. The other mag that I fitted to my SKS wasn't a 30-rd, it was a 20-rd, and evidently it WAS made for my SKS. I'm not gonna ask for a refund, due to my really tweaking the damned mag, to the point of almost destroying it. I WON'T BUY ANOTHER MAGAZINE FROM C.T.D.!!!!! I have a Chinese SKS, I just spent an hour messing with this clip, bending the lips and filing the front, and the stock body. now that it fits, it still won't load properly. I wouldn't recommend it, this is too much work. The box mag is fine, and reliable, too. Wish i'de spent this money on ammo.

It sounds to me, that you're using the Yugoslavian SKS...I have the Chinese version and haven't had ANY problems with mounting the magazine OR jamming/misfiring with the new 30 rd mag. I've been told by several gun dealers that the Yugo SKS is a P.O.S., and that only the Russian, Chinese, or Romanian SKS's work well with the conversion. This is just my opinion, but maybe if you tried a different SKS version, you might not have the problems that you're having.

Well when I first got it I thought that I had just wasted money but then after refitting my yugo to its original wood stock with the 30 rnd mag It worked fine after a lil tweaking of course now its got that cool look and shoots great

i read chance w 's review and he does make good points but i bought a 30 rd clip for my sks from here and from another company and this one is terrible. The other one is straight the spring is tuf and the bullets stand at and angel so they go into the chamber and dont jam, the body of the clip is thicker and actually feels like your holding metal not like this one here where it feels like i am holding a dang pop can in my hand. i had to bend the clip straight and do some modifications on the guts to make it even ok to use. why buy something that you have to work on before you even use it. my advise is look around.

i bought a 30rd and a 40rd and wish i had never seen either one they both jammend just bout every shot the shell would fall down and cause it to jam or the shell wouldnt come up far enough to go into the chamber it would get slammed into the bottom of the chamber i wish i would have never looked at thesse i have a 40rd clip that came with the gun and i can shoot that all day and not have one problwem with it

5/5 Bullets for reliability, capacity, and looks after minor tweaks. This is not the piece of crap you might think from reading the disorganized, and down right dumb reviews posted by people who refused to try proven tactics to solve magazine problems... Easily fixable, just refer back to my review on the 20 rounder, as it also applies to this 30 round mag.

At first i was stoked-i was used to jammin strippers into my rifle on demand-the 30 rounder worked well, at first-started getting probs after about 100 rds (the 40 rd, forget about it, traded that for this one) & of course can't snap in mag w/ out HOLDING open chamber-very akward-i ddnt bother returning this one, i used it for a while & now i'm done w/ my sks altogether

I purchesed the 30 round mag and to my disapointment it didn't perform well at all. The mag had to be slamed into my Yugo which let the reciver fling forward be acident. (Note: The reciver had to be open in order for the mag to go in at all.) I had problems where the recoil disloged the next round to cause jamming of the next round to loaded. On the second loading of the mag 12 ROUNDS didn't want to come up any farther when I was fireing at the rang. This was because of spring failer on the mag. The mag feels like someone in a sweetshop was stamping it out. If you buy this mag you could run into some of the probles like I did or they could work like theres no tomarrow. I could have replaced the spring with a AK Mag spring kit but Its brand new. One more bit of info on the mag is that where the round are being loaded onto (the piece betwen the spring and the guide) is PLASTIC.
