I bought four. After reading the problem comments in the reviews here, I 'prepped' them as follows... Soaked in WD40 for a full 24 hours, completely submerged. Dried. Compressed follower spring using a wooden kitchen spoon with the bowl cut to fit and flattened to fit the follower. Applied Gun oil to the inside of the magazine walls. 'Cycled' the follower 100 times(no science, just watching TV) using the wooden spoon handle. Cleaned using an aerosol action blaster...lightly oiled again. All four work fine in my M1A. But.... Only one mag holds 20 rounds, another 19, another 18, and the little piggy only holds 14 rounds.

I bought 5 of these mags for my loaded M1A and was not impressed. When compared to the Springfield Factory mags, the followers seemed poorly finished with rough edges. These rough edges could be the reason the magazines failed to feed rounds several times. There were even a few instances where the bolt closed on an empty chamber as the follower did not engage the bolt retention mechanism. I never had any double feeds, or failures to extract the empty case. I did have several misfeeds. For comparison, I fired the same 150 grain M80 ball ammo using my Springfield Factory mags and had no malfunctions. Bottom line, spend the extra money and buy the factory mags. The good news is Cheaper than Dirt has a great return policy and has agreed to refund my money.

I ordered two and both mags are too wide for magwell. The follower appears to be teflon color but not teflon. The follower has the same finish on every side.My SA mags and CMI mags the teflon leaves a oily reisdue on your fingers. These leave no oily residue and feel rougher. The springs feel as strong as SA but not chrome in color. They are a dark grey. Also if you slide the floorplat back you can see the spring flexes to the side in the magazine the SA's and CMI do not.The welds are not the same as my CMI and SA mags either. The outside finish has a glitter effect in the parkerized or painted finish. The sa's and CMI's do not.I do not believe these are mil-spec but good clones.

I purchased two of theses mags. Both function great out of an M1A Scout in a Sage International Stock. One mag was a perfect fit. However, the second mag needed some work. The locking lip on the rear of the mag had been assembled too far low. This made locking the mag in place completely impossible. A dremel tool with a grinding bit fixed it.

This Westinghouse Magazine is very good-do remember that prior to using and after inserting the cartridges you should tap the magazine on the rear face like your Drill Instructor told you to do. It will operate much better when the rounds are evenly stacked and more or less "EVENLY distributed in the Magazine!"

I have a loaded Springfield M1a that came with one lame ten round mag. I took the oportunity to buy five of these "W" marked 20 rd m14 mags and used all of them at the range. They functioned flawlessly; no nose dives, no double feeds, or loading issues of any kind. The only problem I had was that I only bought five. The fit and finish and construction of these mags are perfect. For my part, I highly recommend these usgi mags. They are as high quality as they can be.

Bought 4 mags tried them out and all I got was "nose dives" with them. Unless someone can help me correct the problem I am not happy with the mags at all and concider them a waste of money and would not recomend them to anyone!

As many before me have eluded, these mags are good quality construction. However, you will not just unwrap them and have them feed through. They do need to be disassembled and lubricated, or they will nose-dive after 3 or 4 rounds. They are very much worth the 5 minute per mag effort, which you should probably do with any mfg's magazine. The function of these mags after cleaning, lubricating and bouncing the spring a few times was flawless, and I imagine will continue to be for years to come. I bought 5 of the 25rd (star) variant, and am pleased. I suppose I should've bought more.

Purchased 3 for in my SOCOM II. Have only used one but works great. Had to clean and lubricate. The follower grabbed a little right out of the box. After cleaning and cycling (Pushed the follower down with a stick and let it spring back up a couple of times) it works great. As my final test I ran 20 rounds as fast as I could pull the trigger and not a hickup! I'll buy more!

Good M1A Mag's ,these mags were made by Westinghouse for U.S. military contract, NOT by Winchester like CTD claims but still a great product ! 13+ spot welds, meatl follower, phosfate coated. Not some cheep knock off's from overseas . Clen them and lightly oil with Breakfree on the inside and run-um all day long with no problems. Better stock up now ! FYI, Winchester U.S. contract mags will have a slash through the "(W-)".

This time I cleaned this group of six before I did anything else. Once cleaned and inspected, they worked great! Again, well constructed, and snug fit. The fit, for my gun, is expected. Excellent mags.

Bought a couple of these mags a few months back for my SOCOM-16. Had just paid $50 each for some new in the box W marked mags dated 1971 at a gun show. The mags from CTD were exactly the same. Have fired over 200 rounds from each without one failure of any kind. Decided to write a review because of some of the negative reviews posted. I also only use Winchester and Federal factory ammo. No imported junk.

I bought 6 of these with caution. I've seen these same mags at a local gun store for $85 each. They are a tight fit on my M1A. The gun is new as well, so I kind of expected that. They are well built. At first they didn't seem to like feeding very well. It took me 15 inutes to disassembled, clean, and inspect them. They didn't misfeed or nose dive after I cleaned them up. With that evaluation done, I ordered 6 more, and should have them next week.

These mags were idental to the ones that came with my M1A, minus the logo. You have to run a full count through them and clean them up with some CLP before they start to run smooth. Will buy them again.

I bought a three of these mags a couple weeks ago, all new with "W" marked. Straight out the the plastic they held 20 rounds and at the range I had no problems with them. I put two full loads each in them through my M1A and NO jams or double feeds. I will be buying four or five more before they are all gone or someone outlaws them again. Thanks for the awesome price CTD and keep the deals coming.

These mags are not actual GI mags. They look alot like them but they are not real. They are definately not Winchester magazines. I have compared them side by side with authentic GI magazines. As for function, these mags will have problems with "nose dive" as the spring inside is not designed correctly. The two top coils are too small allowing the follower to "rock" forward which allows the "nose dive" to occur and jam the rifle. Real GI mags are available if you shop around. These aren't it.

just got these 2 weeks ago.edge of feed lips bent, had to bend them back. one mag would lock with bolt shut, one wouldn't.( sa mags lock irregardless.)they fit tight but will wear in. took them (winchester mags) to the range and they worked flawlessly. for half the price of sa mags,i will buy these anytime-they are well worth the savings. these would rate a 5 except for tightness an bent feed lips, which is easily fixed.

I got 2 of these mags today, at first when fully loaded both rattled quite a bit, so i took them apart and put some clp on them and reassembled, after reloading them one of them still rattled. I thought maybe it just needs to be broken in, took them both out and had no misfires in either, after realoding the rattling one twice the rattle has disappeared, just needed to have the kinks worked out. Great mag, great price and got my order in 2 days, would recommend highly.

I bought 3 of these for my new Springfield M14. They seem to be built well but they need time to be broken in as I found out on the gun range. With a combination of new rifle and new mag things didn't go smoothly at first, but as paint and metal wore into a good fit, the mags worked well and I'd recommend them.
