Gents, if you pride your M1A, then don't do it a dis-service by picking up one of these. I bought several in one order and ALL failed to operate properly. Some didn't hold all 20 rounds. Some fell out while firing!! Double feeds were also common. I went ahead and bought 2 Springfield-manufactured 20rd magazines and have never had a care in the world since. If you are planning on competing with a NM M1A, this magazine will fail you miserably especially in rapid fire. It is honestly better to single load without a mazazine than use this thing. Buy it only if you are making a war display.

well, these guys are right the good ones cost alot. But if it doesent work right it really dont work at all, now does it? I just went to a gun show and found a lot of CTD products there, like these mags(though they where way over priced) I was able to order some CMI brand M14 mags (the millitarty buys this brand) for $30.00 each brand new......

These magazines look enticing with the 12 dollar price tag, but when you see 308 rounds slamming into the side of the chamber of your 1500 dollar rifle you will be pissed. go for usgi manufacture or Sa. I bought 4 of these magazines and not one fed reliably

I really wanted to like these mags but I would advise you to save your money and buy quality over quantity. The floor plate and follower are soft and the metal bends far too easily. Of the six mags I tried all of them appear to have been formed off center when the body of the mag was formed. One of them was more than a quarter of an inch off. This takes the mag body out of square and makes it unreliable in feeding. The welding on the mag lug is marginal and one failed (popped off the mag) the first time I did a fit function in my Springfield on the empty mag. It’s hard to swallow the high price of good mags and for now I'll rely on my springfields/GI mags and keep looking for a best buy. This isn't it.

My previous review indicated that I had compared a "30-round SA magazine". Sorry, it should have said "20-round SA magazine". I must have had AR-15s on my mind that day...
 Cheap for a reason, 02/09/2007

In the product's defense, I'll point out that it is about 1/4 the price of a genuine Springfield Armory magazine. There are reasons for that; you will have to decide if the lower price is worth the lower quality. When I received this magazine, I put it beside one of my SA magazines and immediately saw why it was cheaper. The 30-round SA mag has 13 large spot welds along the front; this one has 4 tiny, off-center spot welds. The lug on the back of the SA mag is large, centered, and secured with spot welds on all 4 corners. The lug on this mag is smaller, slightly crooked, and poorly secured with 3 tiny welds. I can even see a sliver of light between the lug and magazine body. It seems to function fairly well, in my limited use. The lug allows for a sloppy fit and a little rocking, but I've only had 1 failure to feed and the mag seems to be holding up well. The SA magazine is the hands-down winner in quality, but not everyone is interested in spending $40 or more for 1 magazine. If low price is your goal, then this will probably get you by just fine. If you want to score a coup and get SA quality on the cheap, this isn't it. I've been looking for bargains in this category for a long time, and haven't found one yet. The good magazines simply cost more money!
