Best in the West, 04/16/2008 |
| Reviewer: Texasjewboy |
| After reading some of these reviews, I figure some folks got a totally different batch than I got. Mine were great. Sure, they looked used, but I expected that. We were told up front that they'd seen military service. I wasn't expecting brand new, just fully functional, and that's exactly what I got. All things considered, they're in pretty darned good shape considering where they've likely been, and all they've likely been through. Mine didn't even need cleaning, as some reviews have mentioned, and some even had dust covers on them (those Israelis take good care of their stuff!). They fit my Kel-Tec just fine too. They lock in tighter than a drum. You can't beat this deal for the money. Sure, you can buy better looking, more expensive magazines, but why? Better stock up before these puppies are all gone! |
Get the VERY BEST..., 03/30/2008 |
| Reviewer: FN-P90 |
| I have bought a total of 6 of these. Fit my DPMS M-4 beautifully. Flawless function, with minor problems. Had ONE that the follower broke after firing the last round. Got 6 new Magpul followers, replaced them all, just to be sure. Would suggest you do the same. They do require washing after getting them in, as others have said. I would also suggest application of dry lubricant, not oil, as the dry lube will not attract/hold dirt, etc. The additional "lip" on the mag seals the mag well against intrusion of dirt/sand/debris. Let's face it, a people that have been at war with their neighbors for 2000 years will make reliable weaponry... |
Great buy, 03/28/2008 |
| Reviewer: Paul H |
| They looked well used when they arrived as I was expecting. Put them in the dishwasher and shined them up.. Wow! They performed well in my DPMS and even cycled some old Wolf ammo that wouldn't perform in my other mags... I will be purchasing more of these mags real soon...cannot beat the price. Value is great... |
awesome!, 03/04/2008 |
| Reviewer: Tim Lowe |
| I ordered 3 of these and they all loaded very easily, fit in snugly, and did not jam once. I shot about 300 rds at the range and 180 came from these 3 mags and they were by far my favorite out of this, my colt mag, and an H&K mag. |
garbage, 02/28/2008 |
| Reviewer: chris |
| i was so excited to get my hands on these mags and when i got them they were in great shape. but to my surprise they dont even fit any of my ar style rifles( dpms m-4, rock river, stag, or colt) i tried to drill out the mag catch square cutout and they do stick but then get caught on the follower.:( so in my opinion stick with true mil spec magazines........ or youll be in hell of a situation if god forbid you ever need to use them.........they look good yes but in my opinion "garbage" stick with thermold. |
Doesnt fit my Stag-15, 02/27/2008 |
| Reviewer: Josh |
| One reviewer said this fit his Stag-15 - it doesn't fit mine. The other orlite (the one that says it fits bushmaster) fits my stag ok , though. Oddly enough, I cannot tell a visual difference between the two - I'm sure a few minutes work with a file or sandpaper will resolve the issue, but hopefully this will save somebody else some time. Decent mag, though. |

Great Mag!, 01/24/2008 |

Wish I'd had these in Iraq., 11/17/2007 |

| These mags give me significantly fewer malfunctions than the GI teflons. They fit perfectly in my Rock River M4 and in my Stag-15, and you can't beat the price. Stock up, these won't be available much longer. ;-) |
Good for M&P15 after shaving sidewall, 10/29/2007 |

| Update to previous posting 10/10/2007...these work very well after shaving down the ridge on the mid-sidewalls. |
Buying more, 10/28/2007 |
| Reviewer: Watchdog3 |
| I just bought 2 of these for my New OlyArms M4, the came in yesterday and when I opened the box yeah sure they are a bit dirty but c'mon for 10 bucks what are you expecting? If your like me you just want something that no hastle and zero maintainence, something for the range and maybe some home/person defense. These mags fill the bill, the only reason I didnt give them 5 is beacuse I had to use my dremel on both of them, but that only took 10 minutes for both and now both mags fit perfect and fall freely I WILL BE GETTING MORE!!! |
Not right for S&W M&P15, 10/10/2007 |
| Reviewer: Evan |
| Seems sturdy, but doesn't seat well in the Smith & Wesson M&P15...will need to trim down the edge on the mid-sidewalls. However, it feeds well, easy to load, & easy to clean. |
Orlite Magazines, 09/26/2007 |
| Reviewer: Yeager |
| Recently purchased two for my Bushmaster gas piston AR, when I got them the magazines were a little dirty, but I cleaned them up with some CLP. they look fine now save for a few scratches here and there..
Magazine locks in firmly and dosen't wobble in the magwell, I haven't been able to go to the range yet to test function, but they appear to be fully functional.
Great little magazine for a great price! I'll be sure to order a few more next month!

Here's your information, 06/25/2007 |
| Reviewer: IDF Sergent |
| These Orlite mags are the real McCoy from our IDF Depot, I been to
some hell hole's like Sinal, Golan Heights,Lebanon,Nagev and others!
These places will eat Aluminum /steel GI mags alive, Orlite will resist
pretty of everything( sand, snow, mud, dent, etc),most M16/AR's mag
have ribs on the side to keep the mags rigid but it also allow for sand
to get in the chamber/bolt area then you are in the world of hurt!
IDF address these problem by using orlite which is lot stronger than
GI mag, they simple to maintain just remove base plate clean it regular
dishwasher liquids rise it and dry than spray little graphite lube and ready to Rock N Roll. For all of you wondering why there is a lip on top
third of the magazine is to design to flush with the mag well so no dirt
or sand can get in. IDF M16's/M4 tolerance are lot different then cilivan's
AR's so if you remove enough material or the ribs be very careful not
to use these mags on exterme condition but still will work! I still have
my 6 original issue orlite mag after all these years it flat out works
I didn't think anybody can able to get a whole bunch of this, hell got some more for my self and take it from me I will put my life on the line
every time with this Orlite mags. |
awesome mags!!!!!!, 06/21/2007 |
| Reviewer: tony |
| these are awsome for the pize. i bought 5 of them and only one didnt fit, but 5 minutes with a dremel and file and it fit perfect. they do need to be clean and oiled a little but other than that they are awsome and the prize is even better. i heard this is what the military use or used at one point. if someone can let me know if this is true i would appreciated. |
easy way to clean, 06/18/2007 |
| Reviewer: Hunter |
| I have 6 of these, and they work great in my Daewoo DR-200. When you get them, disassemble them, and put them in the dish washer. Afterwards, they are squeaky clean. I sprayed my finger with WD-40 (or any light lube) and just ran my my finger on the inside, leaving a very very light lube on them. (Some may not do this- but I don't shoot in dirty/hostile environments) |

A good value, 06/04/2007 |
| Reviewer: Joje |
| Bought two of these and they did not fit in my new RRA A4. As others have pointed out the mag wells are slightly too long on some new ARs and the vertical edges on these mags thus prevents them from seating properly. 20 minutes with a dremel and a file was all that it took to remove the upper half (about 1/10 inch) of the plastic edges on both mags without bubbafying them, and another 5 minutes to clean all the dirt and sand out of them. Mine work perfectly and are free from chips or cracks (although one of them is extremely scratched up). Another plus is that they are just as lightweight as the aluminium mag that RRA sends with the rifle. |
Good bang for the buck, 05/31/2007 |
| Reviewer: mike |
| these mags seem to work well. They fit well in my olympic arms and feed nicely. the only problem i had was the first time i put it in it fell out. I pushed it in and heard the click and it didnt move after that. other mags i have slide in with out a push. these seem to need a little budge. for less then $10 i cant help to buy more. |
rough appearance-great mags, 05/20/2007 |
| Reviewer: Brian O |
| When I first opened the box I didn't know what to expect. They were very dirty and showed signs off wear. After dropping them in the sink with a mixture of hot water and liquid car wash detergent, cleaned them, allowed them to dry and sprayed a small amount of WD40 inside of them. Took all 6 of them I purchased out and shoot em up. No problems-worked Great. I have a DPMS-would highly recommed them to anyone. Well worth the money and more. |
Great!, 05/18/2007 |
| Reviewer: C. J. |
| Bought 6 of these at the first of the year and finally got to take them to the range. Used them in my Olympic, Bushmaster and Colt without any problems or malfunctions. They are extremely dirt, but a little dish washing soap and hot water and as good as new. Great buy. |
Good price, Rough shape, 05/16/2007 |
| Reviewer: AZShooter |
| Mags came today, I bought 4. "Field Use" is vague. Another reviewer said was and paint and they look new. We didn't get the same batch, 2 of the 4 have dings and chips out of the feed lips. All 4 are beat up pretty bad. They seem to feed ok, but even after cleaning and breaking down they look pretty rough. You get what you pay for, that's for sure. |
Israeli Orlite, 05/02/2007 |
| Reviewer: Texan Raven |
| OK, so they are dirty and scuffed. Take them apart, wash them thoroughly, dry them and spray them with some high-heat flat black engine paint. Lube the springs VERY lightly, put them together and you are in business with what looks like a brand new magazine. I have bought over a dozen of these mags and every one of them has functioned flawlessly in my AR. Great buy for the money. Israeli- When you care enough to use the very best. |
orlite mags, 05/01/2007 |
| Reviewer: Patriotcop |
| Orlitemags?
Sure buy them. However most of the newer lower recievers may or may not accept them. This is easily changed with a dremill too of small ammount of filling. Take a close look at the center line on the magazine. The rear of the center molding line causes the magazine not to fully seat into the reciever and catch on magazine catches. Simply relieve 3/4 or so of that molding line and your in business.
Have and know others who have used these mags in m16 and ar style weapons for many years without trouble. They are designed however to throw away when they crack or start malfunctioning, and at this price who can argue. Throw the bad ones away and get another.
These style mags save lots of load out weight while deploying with heavy loads as well, as you are not carring the magazing weight.
These mags will work in a very sandy enviornment while steel or alum. will stop, this has been my finding anyway!
Stay safe

Very good magazines, 04/05/2007 |
| Reviewer: Robert McCool |
| I ordered two Orlite magazines. They arrived promptly, and were in good condition, with no damage. As the description mentions, they did show some signs of moderate use. Both magazines required a thorough cleaning, but once that was completed they worked flawlessly. They're not shiny new mags, but for the price they can't be beat. This is one of the best deals available in AR-15 magazines. |

Great cheap mag, but..., 03/16/2007 |
| Reviewer: PFC Nguyen |
| These mags fit great into my bushmaster.
I bought two to test them out because of the great reviews and cheap price, however it seems the prices have gone up. I bought them for 6 bucks each but now they're three bucks more! It kind of hurts my feelings... supply and demand i guess. |
Not a bad buy., 03/14/2007 |
| Reviewer: Bushmaster Shooter |
| I bought 7 of these mags for my Bushmaster M4. In stock configuration, these mags do not fit. However, that was fixed within 30 seconds with a dremel tool and grinding tip. I just zipped off the plasic lip, sanded it and it works great! The major issue was the dirt and grime. I suggest that you plan on taking them apart and scrubbing the heck out of them. After I cleaned mine, I hosed it down with silicone lube and let it dry and wiped any excess off. A result, these mags feed well and with enough work, will drop free from the mag well.
I would only suggest using these mags for target practice or plinking, due to the fact that they are older mags with components that do show some wear and tear. Excellent buy for the money! |
Don't buy these mags! ;-), 03/14/2007 |
| Reviewer: cjlandry |
| Leave them for me! :-p
Seriously, I read the reviews and the opinions that these wouldn't work in my son's Oly M4, so I almost didn't buy any. But for this price, I thought, "Why not give them a try?" So I ordered them yesterday at 2pm, and they arrived this morning at 9am. I cleaned 'em, put some Dri-lube on the followers and springs, loaded them to capacity, then plugged them in. One out of five had to be slammed in place until I removed a little material from the ridges. I then cycled the ammo through the poodle-shooter. I loaded and cycled them three times, and each time they cycled perfectly. Of course, I have yet to see how they behave under what passes for recoil in these little guns. But I see no reason why they won't perform while firing. The only reason I don't give them 5 bullets rating is because one of them looked like it was painted on by a pre-school kid. This was the same one that needed a slight adjustment.
I want more of these magazines! |

| Reviewer: kcmo |
| bought 6 for my olympic m4, every round has fed perfectly so far, have not had a single misfeed or jam and i have shot about 750rds out of these, they DO fit olympic arms so ignore the other reviewers comment. when you get them, take them apart, SCRUB them clean, and use a dry spray lube on the inside lightly before reassembly. definitely a best buy! |

I love these!!!!, 02/11/2007 |
| Reviewer: Jim |
| I have about 6 of these mags, and I love them! These are great mags, but you have to make sure they fit your gun. They're telling the truth when they say they don't work in a Bushmaster, and they also won't work in my Olympic either. But they work perfectly in my DR200, so I'm going to keep buying them. |

GREAT MAG!, 02/05/2007 |
| Reviewer: Don and David |
| I bought 2 of these for our Kel-tec PLR-16's. They work perfectly. No feed problems at all. I would highly recommend this mag for any situation. After a little cleaning and "tlc", this mag should last you a long time. Since the first two i ordered worked so well, i am ordering 10 more. |
Good value, 02/01/2007 |
| Reviewer: Dave |
| These mags are great. Yes, they are pretty dirty but a scrub brush and some industrial grade cleaner fixes that. About thirty seconds with a file took some plastic off the ridge that runs across the side and then they worked just fine with my Bushmaster. |
Good to the last rounds, 01/16/2007 |
| Reviewer: IDF Sergent |
| These Mag work in any condtion! they can fit in the Bushmaster
and some others brand as long as you remove enough material
with a razor blade, make sure clean it with hot soap water than a
light spray of WD-40 inside.I still have my original Orlite Mag for
many's of year when my life depend on it still Rock's every time!
For this price you got yourself a real jewel. |

Good mag, 12/20/2006 |
| Reviewer: Chris |
| Nice mag for the price, but won't fit my Bushmaster as stated. The Bushmaster dosen't have as big a bevel around the bottom of magweel and thus the ridge around the magazine's mid-line won't let it sit high enough to latch. Fits CMMG lower just fine.

Great Value, 12/16/2006 |
| Reviewer: dj_suffering |
| High quality ultra light construction. Fits and releases smoothly in DPMS receivers. No feed issues as of yet. Will purchase more in the future as these mags are better functioning, better looking, and better quality than the $12 steel mags. Did need a good cleaning. Description "shows field use" really means "dug out of the sand". Great value. |
Valued magazine, 12/09/2006 |
| Reviewer: FS Jager |
| This is a very good buy, even for those who own the Bushmaster AR clones. The Orlite magazine does stick in the magazine well of the Bushmaster system, not falling free on release, but that can easily be fixed by a practiced magazine change. A tough design that takes abuse. Most I have purchased do show wear from use, but they still have many years of life in them. I have not experienced any feed issues, and I have owned several of these magazines for about eight months. |
