There is not "French mistake" here, as canned heat would want you to believe. The window is plastic, not just a slot cut in, so there is no worry about debris, sand, dirt, dust or other things coming into the mag through the window. I hate reviews from people that have OBVIOUSLY never handled the product. Now, I have to say that the indicator isn't worth the 3 dollar difference between this and the one without the window TO ME. However, tests have shown that there is no difference in structural stability or ruggedness between the two.

Where do I begin? Realy good spring,smooth operation, and seats up tight to my Rock River AR-15. Same on the S&W M&P. Reasonable price and the dust cover a real plus.

Yes, they work after a truck drives over them. Yes, they have a window that lets you see how much ammo you have in each mag. But the real reason you should get some of these is because they look SWEEEEEEET! And we all know function is secondary to appearances.

These mags are the greatest things going in mags. A member of my unit has them and I commented to him that they looked like they would be good mags so he let me borrow them. Flawless feed, the window was easy to use for our LACE report. The only mod he made was colored tape to identify mags for the LACE report. These are the reasons behind my whole fire team purchasing these mags for ourselves, plus can't beat the price.

Canned Heat is incorrect. The magazine that he is referring to had a completely open window. Magpul PMAG "features transparent windows on both sides of the body and has a painted indicator on the spring for quick determination of approximate rounds remaining in the magazine" The mag is completely closed to the elements. I own several and the only issue that I am aware of is that sometimes on older models, the seam near the rear of the feed lips cracks. This is a known issue to Magpul and they usually warranty this.

Mr. french mistake: They also make the pmag w/out the window! Read Combat's review, doesn't get any harsher condition's than that, you think! I have 6 of them now, & will buy more, flawless mag, especially for that price!

well manufactured product. Absolutely zero FTFs. The dust cover also takes pressure off the feed lips when the mag is loaded. Just awesome, I keep 10 mags loaded and ready to go at all times!

This magazine is easy to load and feeds wonderfully in proper conditions. My concern is based on a World War I French machine gun with the same philosophy. Seeing how many rounds remain opens key mechanical parts to debris (one part is one too many). Imagine what sand or mud would do to the feeding function of the magazine. Under combat conditions I can promise the view window will rarely be used and would not be worth a jammed rifle. For swift and ‘clean’ assaults this mag will be more suited. This mag would be perfect for target shooting. Very cool regarless.

This preforms extremely well in less than perfect conditions. Never had a single problem with one out in Afghanistan. Had a few problems with those the US Army issues. You can't buy a better magazine for the price.

These mags are awesome. I have 3, and I can't see ever buying a different mag for my AR.

i have 2 have always worked great for me

First I saw the youtube videos about the Magpul PMags being run over by a car and I had to buy 2 to check them out. Like what they did in the youtube video, I ran it over with an SUV and Truck several times, threw it against the wall a couple times and dropped it off a two story house onto the driveway. After placing cartridges into the 2 magazines I bought on CTD, I went to the range and tested them out after the brutality they have received and I was pretty much impressed by them. They still fed great and the follower still had no tilt to them. I will be back for more.

I was very impressed with these mags! Smoothest action I have seen in any type of mag. I am going to but more now, these are my new favorite.
