This item is exactly as advertized and is excellent. I received it less than 3 days after I ordered it and immediately began to saddle soap the leather. It fits both my springfield armory champion and my berretta FS 92. While it does not bother me, the leather did get darker in color after being saddle soaped. After I was able to soften the leather to the point where the berretta fit, I put the weapon in the holster and continued to saddle soap from the outside and allowed the holster to dry with the pistol inside. This gave the holster a tight grip while at the same time an easy draw and return to carry.

The holster in the picture IS NOT what they are selling. The holster that comes is a cheap hunk of poorly tanned rough cheap leather with shiny metal buckles and no reinforcing ring around the retention strap. DON'T BUY!

After reading the reviews, every customer must get different products of this holster than what is advertised. None of my guns would fit in this little holster(Glock 45, Sig 45). And it was made of thin cheap leather. It was truely a let down. Don't listen to the advertisments, if you own a compact, it might work for you. Large handguns don't have a chance of fitting.

cheapy!

Will NOT fit a Kimber Stainless II! It's made of really cheap leather, and very flimsy. Nothing like the given image on CTD. Don't waste your thirty bucks.

GI 1911 Holster Not for All Pistols

This is just as advertised, a USGI Holster, current production. It fits an GI M1911-A1 perfectly. But it's not for concealment, or many pistols and it will not fit a revolver without a little surgery at the saddle maker. I've used mine for over a year now for re-enacting, as my GI one is far too valuable and fragile to risk damage. And aside from the modern composite fittings, This over the uniform holster is far nicer than any repro I have seen.

Own a Colt 1911, and it fits very well. originally I assumed it would ride well for a concealed holster. Middle band is fine the way it is, just wear a long sleeve shirt- I do all the time even in the summer so that's no big deal. Problem is, the straps are held in place by some leather/leather-type bands that are poorly kept so they flake apart- even worse, so do the straps altogether. I wear black clothes because of my work dress-code, and before I knew it when I took off the holster, I had tan shavings all over myself. so if you want a replica feel for what the military may have worn back then, go for it. Otherwise, just don't make the same mistake I did. It's up to you on what you're looking for. Best of luck.

I had just got your holster I was eagerly awaited.I notoced right away that it did indeed have thick leather and was clearly a great throw back. However,I feel a little milead about it's size.My mid size glock like auto did'nt have a chance to make a fit into this tight holster.I don't have a .45 but I know one thing...it better be skinny. My next try was my medium frame 4 inch revolver.A Taurus 94.It almost fits, but won't even slide in far enough to cover any part of the trigger gaurd...needless to say the thumbstap is usless a it is too short.I can't believe they can say a single action large frame revolver will fit.Not a chance! 45 guys, take your chances,it may work out for you. From looking at it,I think a Bersa .380 type would match good.I never thought I'd have to go out and find a gun to match a holster.I love ctd,but I think this one was a bust for me.Good luck guys

Fits Beretta 96

Having served previously as a Tanker in the Army, I choose to own a Beretta 96. This holster immediatley caught my eye in the catalog. No mention was made to its ability to fit Beretta 92/6. Upon opening the package I was immediatly impressed by the above-average quality and thickness of the leather. Although it was extremley dry throughout the straps, a few hours with saddle soap, and I am beginning to fall in love with it. It is going to take a bit more work with the lotion and a hairdryer, but... it is going to fit my Beretta 96 -very- snug. Just how I like it. The retention strap will need a bit of conditioning and stretching, but a small price to pay. Good buy.

I wanted a sholder holster for my 9mm (same size and shape as the 1911) that would be out of the way when climbing in and out of blinds here in Texas. A hip holster was always in the way when riding in our Club Car converted to a hunt car. This is perfect and the gun fit just right. I am big (6'-4" and 285 lbs) but it adjusted fine. It is quite comfortable and easy to remove and replace. Good job!

I just got my holster today and I love it. It obviously fits my 1911, but it is comfortable to wear also. I will recommend it to everyone I know with a 1911.

The M-7 is very comfortable to wear and rides well. The hardware is all hard chrome and is high quality. The pistol retention strap is secured by a "push the leather slot over the pin" fastner, not the spring/pin fastner illustrated. All my holster needed was a good working over with a leather conditioner.

I had hoped that it would have been exactly as shown, but I did make the purchase knowing the item would not be as shown. The leather is good quality, the retension strap I had hoped would have been a lift the dot type fastener, but its not its just a push thru type like the GI leather holster. Other than the hardware being a chrome plate, I am satisified with the item. Max

Bought this holster for my Government Model 45 ACP but when I needed a holster for a hog hunt in the Pan Handle of Texas for my back up gun I didn’t have one for my 5” Blackhawk. I tried this holster just for giggles and low and behold it fit like a champ. I am guessing many other models of pistols will work as well as my single action Ruger also.
