This is untreated leather and you need to oil it so it stays supple and does not crack. Best method is to use leather conditioning oil and rub it in until it won't take any more, then apply a coat of glycerin soap or mink oil for waterproofing. As it gets dirty or dry scrub with a toothbrush, ivory soap and water, then use leather conditioning oil and mink or glycerin. Take care of it and it should last a long time. Looks great on my M1A Scout.

Looks great on my SA M1 Garand, easy to put on and way better than any tactical sling, and like the guy below me...for what I paid for a leather sling, and what I've seen them go for, I'm not complaining it works and should hold up nicely. Highly recommended.
