I received the holster earlier today and find it to appear well constructed. I expect to find it to be quite durable and a pleasure to wear. Based on other reviews I have read, the only major question to answer has to do with the strength of the hooks, although it may be a mute point in that the individual who actually had the problem may not have treated it with the respect due any good piece of work and may have abused it. Once I got it in my hands, here is what I did with/to it: I had a can of liquid silicone spray and sprayed the inside of the holster with enough of a coat to soak the leather. I did a single ply of a plastic bag and inserted my Para Ordnance in the holster, massaging the leather while it was still soaked with silicone for a good form fit. I also used a heat gun to heat the leather in the area of the thumb safety that some complained as having been molded in the wrong position (Down or Off) resulting it that area (the area of the extended slide release and thumb safety) becoming a good form fit. I broke the holster in more at that point and ended up with a snug fitting holster that when considering this is a IWB holster, should have no retention issues even during fairly active movements. My final action was to spray the entire holster with a Teflon wax based item that smoothed the draw even more, as well as really bringing the outside leather to a nice sheen when I wiped it down. The only thing I would like to see different is a raked mount instead of the vertical it has. OUTSTANDING HOLSTER AT A GREAT COST !!!!!

I purchased this holster about a year ago and I was impressed with the quality for the price. But after a year of use the clips that keep your holster from coming out with the gun when pulled broke off. Lesson learned: buy a holster with either a metal clip or better yet leather loops.

i've been using this holster for the past week or so and I must say it's not bad. There are 3 little quirks you should be aware of: 1 the leather was molded without the thumb safety in the up (safe) position. I carry cocked and locked and this causes the leather to be pushed out a bit into my side. Not a big deal but worth noting. It will most likely mold itself to the proper position over time. 2 It was not molded for extended thumb safeties. Luckily my carry 1911 doesn't have any. I tried it on a buddies gun with extended safeties and found it to be fairly uncomfortable. 3 the belt loops don't hold onto my belts very well. I have tried 2 different belts but the same thing happens. The top "tab" slides under the belt and the holster sags down on my pants a bit. Overall for the price you really can't beat it though.

Is it as good as some of the Galco and other-brand IWB holsters? Not quite. But it's a great holster nonetheless, and you won't beat that price. I'll be honest: I wasn't expecting much from a 30 dollar holster, but it's held up. It has leather covering the otherwise-painful thumb safety and it fits the 1911 snugly. Only problem is some 1911's with target sights don't fit as well. You won't beat it in bang-for-buck!
