This product is perfect. No drilling required for installation of mine. just remember to slide the safety button to midline or it will not let the receiver out of the stock without damage. Also, the picture here does not do this piece justice. It is a very nice looking mag release lever.

Took me longer to take apart the 10/22 carbine than to install this release. About 3 minutes after taking the rifle stock off if that long. Didn't have to mod at all. The release in my opinion is easier than the factory release to operate. Good Access on any magazine 10 rnd or Hi-cap. Best $9.97 I have spent on my 10/22. No more fumbling around for a quick change at the range.

I was haveing a hard time getting the magazine out of my Ruger 10/22. After looking arround for a replacement I bought this METAL (not plastic)replacement part. To install I suggest that you look on YouTube for explicit instructions. There you will find a very good video on how to replace this part review this severl times before you attempt to do the work. It make a very big difference in how your Ruger will work for you. Try it you'll like it.

I’m starting to see a pattern in the reviews here. Ruger should have made the magazine release like this from the factory. Works great with zero issues on the install. You need a flat head screwdriver to remove the two screws to get the stock off and then a tiny punch or screw driver to push out the pin on the release so you can remove it, replace the factory release with the new one, reassemble and you are done. It took me about half an hour to do because I was caught up watching TV and only fooled with it during commercials. I’ll put one of these on every 10/22 I ever own from now on.
