I bought two of these: one for me and one for my son for school. After some home modifications the packs seem to work great for what they are made for. They aren't for the hard weekender, these are made for the daytripper and as a good backpack if you don’t have much to carry. I would recommend to anyone that makes this a purchase sew the straps in with some leather thread and get rid of the excess, that way when your walking the straps don’t move on you. But, overall a good made product. Thanks, CTD!

I have been reading the reviews and was floored by the negatives...I have had mine for a year and have stuffed the crap out of it....have abused the zippers to the bulging point.....never had an issue....this is one rugged made ruck.....and will order another soon.....it is the cheapest price on the net and even undersells ebay....

I am using this as a "grab and go" bag. In my line of work we can be called at a any time to go and its nice to have a bag that I know I have the essentials in. Big enought to fit the basics but small enough not to make it a pain. I've read that people are having issues with the zippers, they must have fixed them, mine are strong and haven't broke and they are constantly pushed to the max. Would definatley recommend.

The bag is not bad, although it is smaller than I expected it to be. I figured out a way to rig some of the east german day packs to attach to the pack to give myself extra storage.

Purchased this bag a few years ago and have abused it to no end. So far I have not had a single issue other than the bag being to small for what I try to stuff in it occasionally. No broken zips, buckles, or seams! I think the shoulder straps kind of suck and I have not been able to get any size hydro bladder worth using to fit(2L and 3L) so if your buying it with the intention of using it like a camelbak don’t buy it. Also if you are taller, like 6ft or over the straps will be very hard to adjust to where they are comfy but tall people are used to inconvenient fits LOL. Also I have had no issue with the molle attachment straps and have covered my pack in pouches also full of gear. Overall this bag is a killer 1 or 2 day gear bag and is incredibly durable. I gave it a four because of the strap configuration and the hydro bladder bs.
