For the money, this can't be beat. Based on some of the reviews here, I was skeptical that this holster would be a good fit for my Colt M1911. Dropped right in! Snug, but didn't require any stretching. The baseball conditioning oil is a good tip--brings more flexibility to the leather as long as you don't mind it darkening. If you need concealment or different fit, you'll get what your looking for from Bianchi or Galco, but you'll spend three or four times as much. If you want the military look, you'll definitely get your money's worth with this rig.

I received my holster today and after reading some of the reviews, I immediately went to see if my S&W 1911 would fit. It did! The next thing I'll do is to treat the leather to make it a tad softer. Regardless of some negative reviews, my holster is well made and worth the money - don't expect to use it as a concealment holster though, it was not intended for that!
Great Holster and Great Price

I purchased this holster for my Taurus 1911. If fit perfectly. The leather is very stiff, but it's nothing that won't correct itself with time or a little elbow grease. I'm a big guy, but the holster went on without needing any adjustment. Although, it is easily adjustable for smaller frames. It is not a quick draw holster, but one to keep your 1911 secure at your side. The snap and buckles all work well and look good. For the price, I got exactly what was expected and more. This is a good quality holster that will do the job I bought it for, for years to come. Also, ordered it on the 20th, got it on the 21st. What more can you ask for? CTD, great job on product and delivery.
Outstanding!

I do leather work as a novice hobby and have to say despite being a right handed holster (I'm left handed) it is a well made holster. First of all you wouldn't want loose or thinner leather. Quick and easy shaping, soak it in water for about 10-15 min (that's how it's done while working leather) and lube up the gun with gun grease or vasoline. Press the gun in and press the leather with your hands (when tooling leather sometime a bone tool is used to get it to take on the detail of the gun if you want do that). Let it dry over night (do not heat or put in oven). After that, continue to use lube to work the holster with the pistol and use saddle soap on the outside (this is better than glove oil, it won't make the holster feel like a wet noodle). I will be using mine as a pattern for a left handed holster, and probably give this one to my father or wife. Excellent holster!

Got mine, and I do not see a need for the leather to be thicker. I treated it only twice(top to bottom) with kiwi saddle soap and I dont see this being harmed at all in any use. If it breaks, while in use, you would hurt yourself. It holds my glock 26 just fine and the glock 22(same holster). Just like any leather, keep it moist (treated) and it'll out do you!
