| Love the replacement, drops in like advertised. But.... note that the replacement barrel I received had laser etchings with logo of Wolf and caliber (quite deep, BTW), which made the metal at the top of the slide act like mountains, which cased the slide to catch on the new barrel receiver. This needed to be sanded down so that a smooth surface was created. Prior to correction, this caused jams, FTE, FTF, etc. In short, the gun ran like junk. Side note, no damage noted on underside of slide, so Tenifer from Glock seems to work as advertised. Use of 80 grit sandpaper, then 200 or higher to finish resulted in smooth surface, and no problems since. Took about a half hour, or one sit-com, to fix. After hand work, the top of the receiver should be smooth, but you can still feel indents of etching, so it may still feel rough. Dry fire and cock many times before shooting, then you should be ok. Test at range before using as defense item, though. Since then, no problems. This is not a big deal, but for those not mechanically inclined, or those with short attention spans or no sandpaper available, so please use caution. Have not shot lead cast bullets, so no info there. Otherwise, standard, plated FMJ or similar bullets seem to run fine. |
