Tent does what it's supposed to, but it's not exactly durable. Even for a short stay. You can buy ultra-lite tents that weigh two pounds and can be carried in your pack. This is last resort for me.

Great addition to any pack. Really a no brainer when considering the price and functionality of the product

Not the Hilton, but will do the job..

I ordered three of these, two for my disaster kits and one to open up and try out beforehand. It's as advertised-only thing is the picture makes it appear as if it's made of thicker material. It's a very thin Mylar or something, just like most emerg. blankets you see. Both ends are open, so you may need something to seal off one end to really maximize the shelter factor. Although very reflective, you can also see through it, so I'm not sure how much shade you'll get out of it. I expect a lot of "crinkle noise" out of it in a breeze too. Looks like it'll do the job though.

Nice to have on hand

My father and I were on a fishing trip in West Virginia. We were a two mile hike from our car when it started to rain heavily. We knew it would not be smart to attempt to reach the car, so we headed to high ground. We had to move fast, so our standard tent had to be left behind. All we had was this tent in my survival kit. It went up quickly and easily, had to duct tape a survival blanket over one end due to the wind. But we got through the night and were able to keep dry. Buy this tent, it may come in handy... But I also recomend some 100mph duct tape and solar survival blanket in case you have wind that may blow water into it.
