7.62x54R (Rimmed), Russian Light Ball, 149 Grain Full Metal Jacket Bullet, 2800 fps, 440 Round Tin.

Russian military 7.62x54R ammunition, 149 grain, BT FMJ, Silver-tipped bullet produced from the 1970s to 1980s. Lead core, steel cased, Berdan primed, and bimetal jacket packed in a sealed 440 round spam can with 20 round sub packs, ideal for long term storage.

This excellent ammo performs well in both old and new model firearms and is corrosive. Clean your gun after using. Note: some lots may not have the tip of the bullet painted silver. This ammo is still manufactured to the same specs. Can opener not included.

Note: Bimetal bullet jacket contains steel and therefore will attract a magnet.

Showed up just a few days after I ordered it and came with a can opener, which surprised me. The ammo can itself is much smaller than I thought it would be, making it really easy to stack these up and store them away. Ammo performs fine, no flaws, I like using this better than the Wolf stuff.

Love this ammo! I have put several rounds of this stuff through my Mosin Nagant M44, no FTF, no FTE, no issues at all. Very hard hitting, decent accuracy. Yeah it's corrosive, CLEAN YOUR WEAPON. You should be doing that anyway. Run some patches through soaked with Hoppes #9, run dry patches through to finish, and you're good to go. I will buy this again.

I, too, had issues with opening these heavy cans but found that a belt sander with 80 grit will grind the edge of the can and makes quick work of opening these cans. Try it out. You just need to watch the sparks. Hint: just sand outwards from the center of the can.

Got it today and went shooting. Sadly, the can I got wasn't silver tip, though I only like it because it looks better. I think the case I got was made hot, I pulled bullets from four random paper backs and measured the powder inside and it came out to be 210-215 grain. Not complaining or anything, just surprised me on the increase in kickback when compared against my old ammo.

This ammo is great! A little extra caution should be used in cleaning, as it's corrosive, but very decent performance. This surplus, out-grouped Brown Bear 203gr out of my 91/30, and shoots cleaner. Will be buying again.

Pretty good ammo for the price. Just make sure you clean the gun right afterwards, as this stuff is corrosive. To the guy that sprays water down the barrel: that is a horrible idea. You will start to corrode the barrel. Also, you are thermal shocking the barrel. Neither is good.

At first, the shells weren't feeding into my rifle at all, were staying in the magazine, or were ejecting, I'm thinking "these blow" but upon disassembling the rifle that night, I found my ejector stud plate was hung up and not protruding enough. Haven't gotten a chance to shoot again yet, but I'm sure the ammo is great. When I was doing single shots, it was extremely accurate. Have a hose on standby, because every box (comes subdivided in 25 round boxes) makes the gun really hot (or maybe my gun's barrel is ever so minutely smaller than most). Spray some water down the barrel and let it flow out for about 20 seconds and cools it. Also serves as a cleaning aid by removing the primer salts.

I took some of this ammo to the range today, and it works just fine. Even though it is mildly corrosive, clean up is pretty easy. Take a few patches soaked in Windex through the chamber and bore, then use your usual cleaning product. No FTFs, or FTEs. Worked like a charm. Buy with confidence, because you can't beat this price!

I just wanted to say that if your order of this ammo doesn't have a can opener, you can get one from Copes Distributing online, for under $6. I still had my opener from another order, so I used it. The can can be opened in less than a minute with a 7" hand grinder. Just grind the top off of the crimp. That is also how to open a 50 lb can of welding rod. Throw the stupid can opener away before you hurt yourself. Capt. Wiley

I seen all the reviews for this and I had to get a can.I orderd it Sunday got it morning of Thursday. I Opend my can and looked at the ammo it all looked brand NEW, I was impresed. I put about 80 rounds through my 91/30 with no problems. This ammo was made for the Rifle. I love this stuff and the price is RIGHT. Make sure you take your bolt all the way apart when you clean it that will help get rid of any stiky bold syndrome. I will be ordering more and I WILL GET A CAN OPENER. LOL

My first impression when I received the can was "oh great, no opener." After opening it with a hammer and a chisel, I no longer cared. I've put around 200 rounds of this through my 91/30 with no misfires. The only thing is that the bullet pictured is not what they look like: they are copper washed steel cased. Also, no silver tip as described. I don't discredit CTD, though. They probably get all kinds of different ammo in cans like this, hard to tell the difference. 5 for the ammo itself, 4 for having to open with a chisel, and I'll round it up to 5.

This is my second can I've bought from CTD. First thing. My first can was not Romanian, it was Russian. Stamped 188/77 on the bullet case...LOVED the stuff. Second can is Romanian..Factory #22 1982...Good stuff. Neither were Silver tipped. Not one misfire or hangfire so far, no random flyers. No feed or extracting problems. NO CAN OPENER but I used the one that came with my Tulammo 7.62x39mm can...works great. I fired ~120rds of the Romanian ammo and decided to re-seal the rest in some boxes for storage (just in case) Gun is a 1939 Tula M91, well modified and shortened to 20" barrel. Plenty of firepower (no pun intended)

This is awesome. 440 bullets for less than 100 bucks!? I got mine in the timeframe, cracked it open with the can opener and had at it. Bullets are packed in paper in even packages and look immaculate. Grabbed 2 of them loaded up the mosin and fired both of them no problem. They even rack nicer than the new rounds. NO STIFF BOLT!!! I ordered on Sunday, got it on Thursday. From Texas to California this is quick. Got the can open, took muscles and elbow grease yeah, but the ammunition is gorgeous. Very good stuff. Shot it through both my M91/30, and my M38 the other day, and it did great. Don't bother buying it at your local gun shop, as they likely bought theirs here as well. The price can't be beat. I bought two of these spam cans, and received them within 3 days of my order. As usual, CTD delivers on timely shipping! As for the ammo itself, as you should know, it comes packaged in these Warsaw Pact "spam cans" that require a tool to open. A tool was included in my order, not sure if this applies to everyone, so be prepared! Really though, for anyone complaining about opening these, I think you're missing out on part of the whole experience! If you have a Mosin Nagant rifle, its kind of cool to experience what a Soviet or Warsaw Pact soldier had to go through to get to his ammo. Regardless, a few minutes with the can opener and the ammo was revealed. Its all paper wrapped into neat little 20 round bundles, and the shells I examined were in perfect shape, with copper washed steel cases. They're all shiny, no corrosion, and look like they rolled off the factory line yesterday. As far as shooting them, the few I fired off worked great and hit the target. I'm not a great shot, so I can't comment on technicalities of how well they'll perform for long range accuracy. The big downside of this ammo is that its CORROSIVE. This means you need to CLEAN YOUR GUN immediately after firing. Really though, I clean my guns when I get back from the range, and if you appreciate your investment, so should you. All in all, great stuff, and a real steal for the price.

Nice easy open can (not) took 100 rounds with me to the range, 100 yard hits all day long went to the 500 yard target with in 3 rounds I had the target zeroed in with this ammo. I was shooting a 1934 Mosin Nagant 91/30 with open iron sites, this one has the hex barrel (ex-sniper?) the ammo is spot on, I will buy more on pay day.

Finally got to take my 91/30 to the range today along with some of this ammo, and things went without a hitch. Recoil was actually less-than I expected and the ammo (plus rifle) were fairly accurate for a novice like myself. After returning home I found the barrel was very dirty, but nothing Hoppes #9 and some elbow grease can't solve.

This Ammo is great I have gone though 3 of these cans and have yet to have trouble as far as I can remember there might have been 2 misfires total! I've run nearly 1000 rounds of this stuff through my 91/30. Not a single problem. Great round, just be sure to clean your gun with some kind of water based cleaner afterwards, and then go back and clean the gun again the way you normally would.

Not sure why people cry about spending a few minutes opening a can. Maybe you should trade in your guns for some knitting needles. It did take me about 10 minutes to open the can, but oh, the things I thought about destroying while opening up my spam can. These rounds are fantastic. Great deal for the money. Already put over a hundred down the tube of my M91. I love it.

This is the cheapest ammo I can find around. It came just as they said it would, in a big spam can. Mine did come with a can opener, though. This ammo is great. It's not to dirty, but it is corrosive, so clean your gun after shooting. Overall, it is the best 7.62x54R I can find around. (and watch out for the paint on the can im pretty sure its lead paint)

Man, I am excited about this! For the price, you really can't go wrong to feed that old surplus rifle! I just got mine, and spent probably 1/2 and hour opening it up with a broken screwdriver and a hammer. Way too easy! Nice contents. Some ammo was covered in what seemed to be Vaseline, but all was good. It chambered and ejected without a hitch. Now all I have to do is shoot it! I suggest getting a Broken Shell Extractor first, as some surplus ammo might break off in the chamber. Better safe than stuck on the range with a locked up rifle!

This ammo is probably the greatest deal you will find. It's already difficult to find cheap ammo, but this one is a great price! I fired and nailed bullseyes from 100 yards with an M44. Quality ammo. The only downside is cleaning the gun after you're done at the range (Be sure to do some research on the different cleaning techniques folks use to clean this, your average Hopps is probably not going to be enough.) But I'll trade manual labor anytime for ammo as cheap as this.

The first can I purchased was in perfect order, however this second can, once opened (which is a pain in the...) had broken shells, gun powder everywhere. At the range I went through about 10 shots before I had to use an extractor. The cans seems to be hit or miss 50/50

This ammo is great for my Nagant 91/30. Dirt cheap and great to fire. Problem is, this box is nearly impossible to open. CTD does NOT give you a can opener for it, and it took me THREE HOURS to open it using hand tools. The can is painted and hammered shut. Other than that, these are pretty good rounds.

I love CTD! Ordered on a Monday night, got here Wednesday afternoon! Even though I ordered only one can, I still got the can opener. The ammo was sealed (can hissed when I punctured the seal), and shoots amazingly well. Cycles much more smoothly than the lacquer coated Brown Bear stuff, and is much easier on the shoulder. Haven't done a lot of business with CTD, but I am impressed so far, and will most definitely be giving these guys my business again. Just ordered some Sellier and Bellot buckshot, and a mag extension for my Winchester 1300, and cannot wait!

VERY good ammo for the price. Spam can was tough as nails to open, but nothing a hammer and metal chisel couldn't take care of. CAUTION: EDGES OF TOP WILL BE EXTREMELY SHARP ONCE CRACKED OPEN!!! I have fired 150 rounds through 6 of my Nagants. Average 1 out of 12 does not fire first try. ALL fired on second try. All showed DEEP dimple in primer after first try. Maybe I got a batch (1985) with bad primers. Filthy and corrosive so clean your rifle. Very accurate, and very inexpensive. Recoil much less than with heavier bullet.

Just finished my first can of this stuff. Experienced no issues whatsoever with firing from a 91/30 Mosin Nagant. I didn't shoot paper, but the ammo felt very accurate at 100 yards. It doesn't seem to be overly dirty, but as said it has corrosive Berdan primers, so do not put off cleaning your gun after shooting this stuff.

Bought this ammo for my Mosin Nagant. The can is a little hard to get into I used a grinder which sounds dumb I know but if you lightly grind the upper edge not all the way through, you can take a screwdriver and push it through the rest of the way and pop the top off with ease. The ammo was in good condition and was really impressed with the price. I don't care what others say, the price is great go to any any ammuntion store for the proof. A great buy!

I love this ammo. It says that it does not include a can opener, but I guess I got lucky since mine came with one. Much safer and easier than cracking it open with a screwdriver and hammer. Ammo does shoot very hot, and you I needed to let my rifle cool a few minutes every 15 rounds or so. Just make sure you clean your weapon after shooting as it is corrosive. A simple way it to use some dish soap, water, and some patches. Clean until your patches come out mostly white. But for the price you can beat this stuff. I already bought another can!

I got lucky because I got the (not included can opener) in my box. though the rounds I got were copper not brass washed. The lot I got is basic copper washed steel core light ball. Mine were sealed at the primer and bullet. I would give a 4 but the can opener was a nice touch. The can looked new with no damage. The Russians' sure know how to be ginger "wit-der-boolits".

Shooting this ammo, I was able to keep a 2 inch grouping fairly easily with my Mosin Nagant. Always clean your barrel with soap and water first to neutralize the corrosive properties of the primers. The can is a pain, but big deal! the steel projectile is just shy of armor piercing, and flies to the target nicely. You will not be disappointed with this ammo!

Been through almost 3 of these cans, and only ever had 1 not fire on me. I'm getting 1.5" groups at 100 yards which I don't think is too bad for surplus ammo, especially at this price. If you have an original Mosin stock (metal butt plate), this will leave a mark ;)

Tin snips will get you in this can in no time. Other than being sooty and non-reloadable, this Russkie ammo works like a charm. Also got 10 stripper clips from CTD, that will work better after they have been used a few times. I recommend this for anyone not to lazy to clean their rifle after shooting. Can you say "Kid on Christams Morning"?.Sent my husband off to work yesterday, sat down on the floor and had a blast just opening the can! We bought a Mosin about two weeks back and a can of ammo when we brought it home. We decided to wait to open the original can until we bought another one. That being said, we had the can opener just in case. Took me about 5 minutes to open the can and another 10 to stop giggling! This good quality, the ammo is great my PSL-54C handles these rounds like a champ. Targets at 300 yards no problem. My 91/30 Russian Mosin-Nagant kicks like some one sucker punched me on my shoulder but it’s a manageable recoil. The ammo is very accurate on both of my rifles, awesome price and great ammo. The only downer is that it is corrosive, so clean YOUR RIFLE. But it's still very good ammo.

Excellent product at a reasonable price. The prevailing technique I have heard to open one of these cans is to use a grinder or some other motorized power tool but in reality all you need is a metal chisel and a rubber mallet. Just go in from the top along the outside edge.

Ok this is my part 1 review I will post another one on how well this shoots, this video is overall how I liked it. I got scared when I saw this dent in my can, but when I opened it all was great no ammo dents so far. Mine was 1968 stamped not 70's-80's which is fine by me because ammo last long long long time. When I ordered my tin of ammo it was supposed to come with the can opener but didn’t. An angle grinder with a cutting wheel made short work of the lid and didn’t harm the ammo in the tin. The rounds were in great condition inside the tin and packed in bundles wrapped in paper. The rounds fired well and are very accurate in my Mosin with a scope mount (also form CTD). The only gripe about the ammo is that after the rifle got quite warm the spent cases were difficult to eject. The case expanded a little inside the hot receiver. The corrosive ammo required immediate cleaning (personal preference) but was easy to clean even after putting about 100 rounds downrange.

I bought this ammo with poor hopes, but when I received my ammo I was shocked that the can was in great condition. The rounds themselves were in superb condition. I shot a 1/2" thick steel target at 250 yards and they went through like it wasn’t there. The ammo is the best I have ever fired out of my 91-30 and WILL be buying more soon. If you have a Mosin Nagant this is the best thing since sliced bread.

I bought my Mosin about 2 years ago and was shocked by the price of ammo. At the time I begrudgingly paid $20 for 20 rounds. It fired well, but the price bothered me. So I went to CTD and almost flipped my lid! The price of this ammo is equivalent to .22LR ammo! I bought 2 cases. The cases were pretty hard to open but it was worth the task. The ammo fires terrific and the gun is simple to clean. If you own a Mosin, svd or ... This is an awesome buy.

I shot 80 rounds with my 1953 M44. It fired excellent without any misfires. This ammo is cheap enough to plink with. We were knocking bottles down at 50yards with no problems. The muzzle flash is visible in broad daylight and just gets better the darker it gets. I'll give this ammo an A+ for quality and price. The only downside is that it took me almost 5 minutes to get into the can with the included can opener, but it's still worth it.

This is a great buy. I actually bought the rifle because it was a proven and sturdy design and the ammo was such a bargain. My can of ammo had a can opener taped to it and was no problem to open the can. The secret is to tilt the can opener in toward the center of can for it to work best. I plan on buying another can.

I got a tin and it is airtight and hard to open without the right tool. My friend and I both had trouble getting the first rounds to chamber without assistance. Not sure if it matters but we loaded out of stripper clips. Out of 100 rounds I had one misfire but it then successfully shot out of my friend's mosin nagant. It is very accurate ammo though, we shot milk jugs filled with water at about 200 yards without scopes. Good fun.

At this price this was really great ammo, I had one hell of a hard time getting the can to open up and I ended up using an angle grinder to cut the top lid off. I have to say this ammo was so powerful it was punching through 1/2 inch thick metal piping like nothing. I had some trouble getting this ammo to feed correctly in my Mosin Nagant but I think that may have been an issue with my rifle more than the ammo

when i bought my mosin nagant i had to take it to a gunsmith because the shells were not ejecting my dad hit the target at 100 yards open sights 3 times so the ammo is very accurate these rounds are very good ones

when i bought my mosin and used this ammo it didnt seemed accurate, but i spent 12 bucks on a hopps cleaning kit and spent hours cleaning the bore and the chamber and the next thing i know it improved the accuracy. i encurage every one to invest in atleast one can. and remember to clean your rifle prior to shoothing. pfc matt

This ammo is perfict, I've put 120 or so through my carbine (M38) and M91/30 and have had zero failures or lemons. I've sighted in my long rifle for 50 yards and my carbine at 100 with the stuff, both shoot like a laser beam. Nuts to the man who says surplus is garbage! NUTS I SAY!

i bought 60 rounds of this stuff. first time out put 20 rounds through my mosin nangant 91/30. worked okay slight problem with extraction. 2nd time i used it nothing but problems. accuracy was horrible i couldnt hit a pop bottle at 50 yards. extraction was hell. brass casings were split

i have a nagant that is well put together in a aftermarket stock, piller and glass bedded, the barrel free floated, and the scope mount kit from here. with this ammo i have got consistant 3/4 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards. this is the best surplus ammo you can find. get you some for your nagant!!! you won't regret it.

These are great rounds for shooting in the Mosin Nagant Check or Russian rifles,Alittle slow as far as bullits go but for the Nagant it's perfect.I've shot the Wolf bullits and for the money these Russian Surplus ronds are great ""BUT" clean that rifle right after shooting it because of the acidic powder used in the Russian rounds. Ok, I've read the rest of the reviews and have to add this: THERE IS A TOOL that is included with the box, to open this container and it took me about 5 seconds to figure out how it works, and about ONE MINUTE to open it! The ammo was in great shape, every shot was as accurate as the previous one. YES, you do have to clean the rifle after you use, BUT DON'T YOU DO IT ANYWAY??? So all I'm trying to say is that IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY! Great ammo, great price, and the delivery was SUPERFAST!

Bullets come in great condition, in FMJ style. Great for anything you plan to use them for, and a good value for the price. Only instead of the hammer and sickle, your gonna need a hammer and chisel to open up the container they're in. Other than the container, it was a great buy. Thanks CTD.

Good ammo at a great price. Can is hard to open though. I had to use the soon to be X's 15 dollar can opener. She wont be opening any tuna but it got my bullets open.
