Standard buckshot like the shotshell industry has made for at least 50 years. Pattern out of my Hawk 982 w/ improved cylinder choke was ~12 inches at 40'. Wide pattern compared to nickel or copper plated buckshot. Recoil is pretty heavy for a 2.75" shell. #1 buckshot seems to be great compromise between pellet count and penetration though.

This ammo works great in my old 12ga Browning Auto-5 with 26" IC. Very deadly pattern out to 10-15 yards and no jams with the 50 rounds I test fired. Five of these out of my Browning in about two to three seconds is a lot of knockdown power!

#1 buck is really hard to find. I fired over 40 rds of these this month while comparing to Rem 9 pel 00 buck. It has noticably more lead weight with slightly more felt recoil. From an 18.5" Benelli Nova, it gave about 1/2" wider shot pattern at 5 yds @ 1270-1290fps, but with 7 more holes! Upon further research, I read that you can expect 30% more wound trauma compared to 00B, with less chance of over penetration. I would recommend both rounds, but I keep #1B loaded for HD.
