Used this to attach an LED flashlight to a Mossberg 500. I found the best way use this clamp is to mount the small end to the barrel with the large end positioned to the left side, next to the magazine tube, and using a flashlight with an on/off push button on the tail cap in easy reach of my left thumb. Once the bolt was tightened I couldn't move it by hand and after several test shots it was still tight, although I would recommend using blue loctite on the screw. People having problems with fit may be using flashlights too small or too large; used with the small end mounted to a 12 ga barrel it will only tighten properly to a 1" diameter tube/flashlight on the opposite end. Conversely, if mounted large end to the magazine tube, it's limited to a 3/4" diameter tube/flashlight.

I bought this clamp in an attempt to add a cheap tactical flashlight to my Mossberg 500A. I bought this with the CTD gunmetal AAA LED flashlight and I got it to work perfectly. I was able to clamp the flashlight on the rear textured area and the other side of the clamp fit perfectly on the Action Slide Assembly just in front of the forearm and just behind the takedown screw (Model 500 only). I tightened it so that there is no way that this clamp is coming off without loosening the screw. Plus, I was able to get the laser on that flashlight to line up almost dead-on with my sights at 20 feet. I am very pleased with my purchase and thank you CTD!

Bought this to mount a light on my 500. Couldn't get the clamp tight enough to keep from slipping and stripped the screw trying.

Bought this for my Mossy 500. You get what you pay for. I got it to fit on the barrel, but the clamp is so small, the best I could mount in it was a AA mag light. Anything larger won't work.
