Really not worth the money IMO. Bought it last year, used a couple of times,mount is worthless that it comes with. After more than a year the mag does not seem to be as clear. I can hit a 4 inch plate at 100 yds all day without it. If you do buy one it'll end up in the junk box. It would be nice if the airsoft shooters would let us know who they are when they comment on products...also those who have just looked through it and not actually shot it. Everyone knows "CTD has the best shipping around", tell us about the product you purchased, not the company you ordered from. Personally I will not buy any magnifier again. Hope this helps someone who shoots real weapons.

This is the only red dot magnifier I have ever had so I have nothing to compare it to but I'm very happy with it. The mount isn't that great, after emptying a 30 round mag the thing is pretty much falling off the rail. Good magnifier, bad mount.

As you'll notice, I wrote my first review BEFORE I owned a Mako 5x Magnifier. First impressions aren't always correct. Sure, it's cheap and pretty clear...but it is not built for real guns. When I received my 5x magnifier I mounted it behind my Eotech on a 7.62x39 Caliber XCR. I shot with this setup about 3 times before the 5x magnifier completely self destructed inside. The lenses broke or came loose and rendered it completely useless. This caliber does NOT have a lot of recoil but it still came apart which I think clearly shows how easily they break. So I bought a not-inexpensive optic that lasted a little over 150 rounds before grenading. Total waste of money

i received this 5x magnifier 5 days after i ordered it, besides being a little big its a great magnifier. solid, clear and comes with a ring, witch lined up perfect with my bushnell holosight. i did compare the mako with a aimpoint and besides the size the aimpoint was only a little more clear, defiantly not clear enough to spend an additional fortune!! great product!!! thanks ctd.

I want you to know right off the bat that this scope is really easy to use and easy to mount. For the money, it is one of the best scopes I have ever seen and it works perfectly with my eotech 512. I wear glasses and have no problem using it. My only complaint is that it sits just slightly uneven on the rail no matter how many times I adjust it. Still, works great and a little sliver of plastic aligns it properly. Probably just a matter of the one I got though. In short, by this one now. For the price, you definitely won't be disappointed.

Just have to say, if you wear glasses, there may be some difficulty with this optic working for you. I was very dissapointed i could not focus the image using this optic. My brother has the Eo Tech magnifier, whatever the difference, with it i could see, using the same glasses. So if you wear glasses, beware, it might not work for you either.

I recently ordered a Mako 5x and was well pleased. I figured for the money it would be a light tin style metal that had to be handled with kid gloves. Not so, it has a very sturdy and slightly heavy tube body. Also from the pictures the piece in front of the eye piece looked like it was some sort of cheap rubber but it was also either made of metal or a very hard plastic. The glass is set straight and very clear. Added it to my flattop paper-puncher behind the new gen of Bushnell Holosight (ultimate Po'Boy setup). Took 1/2 a star away because the mount it ships with is not that great and I needed a Flip-to-Side for my setup. Took 1/2 a star away because the ends are odd sized and can not find any flip-close scope covers to protect the glass. For the money I would repeatedly recommend this vs $300-$400 magnifiers that do the same thing at a weaker strength (3x for Eotech.

These magnifiers are the best quality magnifiers I have seen for the money. The glass is clear and bright, there is no noticeable distortion. Other brands of magnifiers cost almost as much or more than most reflex sights. Like most optics today, they include a free simple mount, but most shooters will want to use a quality quick release or tip-off mounting system that places the magnifier at the proper height for whichever reflex sight system they are using. I have one of the 3x Magnifiers and two of the 5x, and have looked through the 7x.

Thought I would really like this magnifier but didn't have a chance to use it. When I mounted it....it was about .5 inch too low to fit my 557. Also I had to remove the iron sight, on the M-4 there was not enough room to mount all 3 instruments.

I use it with my eotech, and it works perfectly. Lets in lots of light feels well built. Mount sucks its cheap. If your life depends on it buy eotech to be safe, but if your a AR15 owner on a budget buy this.

Can't really say I associate Mako with the word "quality" in any way. Their products look and feel very mediocre and when my friend told me that he purchased this item I had to at least give it a chance. We were shooting our AR-15's at the 100yd range for accuracy. I have a 6x power scope, he had an Bushnell Holo-sight. I mounted the 5x magnifier solidly then took a peek through it down range.... it was crystal clear and far far exceeded my expectations. In fact the clarity was so good that the 5xmagnifier allowed me to see points of impact on target MUCH easier then my 6x scope and the field of vision was much greater. I never expected a 5x magnifier to actually improve a holo-sight, but after using his I purchased one for me today and will more then likely buy another for my Other AR. NOTE: One problem I did notice is with the Bushnell HOLO-site the aiming reticle doesn't end up in the middle of your field of view I tried adjusting a little but didn't have enough tools with me. Overall a VERY good buy compared to price of EOTech magnifiers.
